With the arrival of Palia, which is now available via Steam, and the v0.178 patch update, Palians have begun digging into the new content once the servers are brought online. This update added the Temple of Roots, and a new questline became available for players to begin their next adventures exploring this Human structure.
This temple, known as the Earth Temple, was discovered by players around the time the Temple of the Flames and Gales was made available, and the developer, Singularity 6, alluded to the Temple of Roots as having connections to the Galdurs. As we start a new adventure exploring a new temple, we've detailed how Palians can complete the Keeper of Waves quest with the objectives provided below for Palia.
Palia Keeper Of Waves Quest Objectives List
Keeper of Waves is one of the new main quests that arrived at Palia in the v0.178 patch update and can begin if they've met the questline's prerequisites we've mentioned below. This quest is one of three they'll receive from Einar once they've received a letter he sent to their Mailbox before visiting him at Fisherman's Lagoon near his fishing shack.
Before jumping into the new questline, the developer has stated in the patch notes that for the Temple of Roots questline to be triggered, Palians are recommended to have completed the Vault of the Gales quest as it's a requirement to complete one of the quests for this temple. With that out of the way, let's look at the objectives players will receive as part of the Keeper of Waves quest in Palia:
- Ask around the village
- Find the Hydroflow overseer station
- Find a way to override the lockdown protocol
How To Complete The Keeper Of Waves Quest In Palia?
After reading the letter and speaking with Einar, he'll inform players of a transmission from a Galdur he and Hekla received; however, Hekla couldn't gain access to the temple as she was unable to bypass the lockdown protocols. As the previous temples, Temple of the Waves, Flames, and Gales have an overseer station somewhere across Kilima Village and Bahari Bay, Einar tasks them by asking Villagers about their locations and giving them Keeper of Waves, Flames, and Gales quests, respectively.
For this quest, players must speak to specific Villagers who helped them during the Temple of the Waves questline, Jina and Hekla. Depending on the time of day, Jina will not provide some information regarding the Hydroflow overseer station's location but asks them to keep her updated as she continues her investigations into Human architecture and needs their information once they've explored the temple.
When speaking to Hekla, she reveals that she will accompany them to the Temple of Roots but has heard that the Hydroflow overseer station is somewhere in Mirror Fields. The location will be marked on their map, east of the Ancient Library inside the Mirror Pond Ruins, where they can begin looking until they discover the Water elemental sigil near a trap door at the entrance of the Mysterious Tunnel.
Once they've headed inside, they'll arrive at the Hydroflow overseer station, where they can find relics they've discovered inside the Temple of the Waves, along with a Mysterious Device with a Galdur head in the center. There are a few log entries on the tables on either side of the Mysterious Device and one upstairs, which they can read before interacting with the device.
The device requires an Access Code to gain entry to the device, which we have detailed in a separate guide here, but the clue for the code is located in one of the log entries found at the station. Once they've successfully found the Access Code and logged in, they can view the menu, messages, the Temple Status, and the lockdown protocol, which they can read the message before disengaging the protocol sequence.
With the lockdown protocol now disengaged, the quest will be completed, as players can continue locating the Pyroflow and Aeroflow overseer stations to disengage the lockdown protocol. Upon completing the Keeper of Waves quest in Palia, players will receive ten Renown as their reward.
