It's been around two weeks since the launch of the current major expedition, The Cursed, adding spooky vibes to this expansive world in time for Halloween. This same expansive world is now gaining new performance and visual upgrades as No Man's Sky launched an enhanced version, according to Hello Games founder Sean Murray.
Murray announced on his Twitter account that the enhanced version of the open-world sandbox game No Man's Sky is now available for players who own the PlayStation 5 (PS5) Pro. These exclusive quality upgrades coincide with the launch of the new PlayStation console, in which several new features and improvements are readily available to enable "even more detail and higher image quality than ever possible on console before."
Murray detailed this in a Twitter post this week, which PS5 Pro owners can enjoy their newly enhanced gameplay experiences with several noted features and improvements, including PSSR support, increased framerates, 8K resolution at 30 FPS, 4K resolution at 60 FPS, and plenty more. Alongside the PS5 Pro support, new game features have found their way to No Man's Sky, allowing players to easily transition between their favorite gaming platforms, from PC, consoles, and VR devices with cross-platform play (crossplay) and cross-save fully supported and enabled.
"Adding the ability to transfer saves between platforms via a server is especially difficult for No Man’s Sky, as the work involved increases with each platform supported and how long folks have already been playing for. Both those numbers are large for our tiny team," Murray wrote in the announcement post.
Finally, another update was announced, together with the PS5 Pro enhancements and the crossplay and cross-save features, which all occurred on the same day as BioWare's N7 Day celebration. Mass Effect fans will be happy to note that The Normandy has returned for the first time since 2021 to the open-world sandbox game, for which they have two weeks to complete this exclusive expedition to claim The Normandy in-game.
