Halloween has arrived to Disney+ as Marvel Studios continues to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe with its latest project, Werewolf By Night. Currently promoted as a Special Presentation akin to a television or film special, the project was unveiled during this year's D23 Expo in September 2022.
While speculations continue to ignite over whether Special Presentation marks the subsequent appearance of a certain Moon Knight, it has generated plenty of positive reviews and praise for its cinematography, practical effects, and direction. Let's look at what we know about Marvel Studios' first Special Presentation, Werewolf By Night.
Werewolf By Night – Premiere Date And How To Watch
The first Special Presentation from Marvel Studios, Werewolf By Night, premiered on Disney+ on 7th October 2022 at 12 am PT / 3 am ET, which was adapted from Marvel Comics, and first published in 1972. Werewolf By Night was officially announced during Marvel Studios' D23 Expo presentation by president Kevin Feige in September 2022. The project was kept under wraps during its production and post-production before being announced a month before its release.
Development of Werewolf By Night began in August 2021, with the casting and director officially formalized by March 2022. Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino provides the score for the project and makes his MCU directorial debut.
Werewolf By Night – Synopsis And Casting
Werewolf By Night is based on the first incarnation of the titular character, Jack Russell, who made his comic appearance in Marvel Spotlight #2 (1971). The character and its comic book run are most noted for introducing Marc Spector/Moon Knight in Werewolf by Night #32, released in 1975.

The Special Presentation follows monster hunters who've gathered in the wake of the death of one of its leaders. Russell is one of its members, living with the terrifying curse of lycanthropy; the ability to shapeshift into a werewolf.
A few principal casting was announced at the D23 Expo, alongside the official poster and trailer for the Special Presentation. While there's no confirmation if Moon Knight is appearing in Werewolf By Night, the trailer debuted the first MCU appearance of Man-Thing.
Below is the current confirmed casting sheet for Werewolf By Night, which premiered on Disney+ this month:

Lastly, the special also marks the presence of the Time Variance Authority, who first made their MCU debut in Loki season one in 2021.
Does Werewolf By Night Have A Post-Credit Scene?
MCU fans are wondering whether the Special Presentation has a post-credit scene; prepare yourself, as it doesn't have one making it one of the few MCU projects not to feature one. According to Giacchino in an interview with Inverse, the decision to not have a post-credit scene comes as he felt the events and story of Werewolf By Night have played out as intended.
"It just felt like we told our story. We're good," he exclaimed. Giacchino believed the feature could stand on its own thanks to the characters and storytelling, no distractions involved, and without having to add something fun and exciting towards the end.
