If you’ve been enjoying the new “Totally Normalwatch” mode in Overwatch 2 during this year’s silly April festivities, then you already know it’s packed with laughs, surprises, and some truly glorious drifting moments (shoutout to Reinhardt). However, it looks like a few tweaks were needed—Blizzard has just rolled out a hotfix to address some of the more overpowered heroes in the mode.
Echo and Ball Hotfix Arrives for Overwatch 2’s "Totally Normalwatch" Game Mode
If you’ve been diving into the "Totally Normalwatch" game mode in Overwatch 2, chances are you’ve had a blast with the wild and wacky reworks of the hero roster. But some of those chaotic tweaks turned out to be a bit too overpowered. Two heroes in particular—Echo and Wrecking Ball—stood out, and Blizzard has addressed both in a recent hotfix.
If you’re looking for a normal game of Overwatch 2, you’ve come to the wrong place 👀

Have a totally normal (or chaotic) time when you hop into Normalwatch now through Apr 14 🎉 pic.twitter.com/BAR8xXAB4A
Echo now has infinite flight with an air dash, and her primary and secondary fire has been swapped. Meanwhile, Ball has been shrunk by 50% and now deals increased area-of-effect damage. As you can imagine, those changes made both heroes pretty dominant—maybe a little too dominant.
To help balance things out, Blizzard has applied the following nerfs:
Wrecking Ball
- Health: 425 → 350
- Bonus Health from Roll Impacts: 25 → 20
Echo
- Fire rate reduced by 30%
- Explosion Damage: 14 → 12
Of course, the whole point of Totally Normalwatch is to embrace absurdity with over-the-top abilities, but it’s clear these two were running the show—especially in the hands of players already skilled with their original kits. Hopefully, these adjustments make Echo and Wrecking Ball a little more manageable without completely stripping away their chaotic charm.
