Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Release Date Revealed, Eddie Brock Is Not Venom

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is officially releasing on October 20th, finally putting to bed rumors that the game may potentially be delayed.

The game showed up at Summer Game Fest 2023, with some confirmation on exactly what the game is about and new key art for the title. It was revealed by Insomniac Game's developer Bryan Intihar that Venom will not be Eddie Brock under the suit, taking a steep departure from previous interpretations of Venom and from the origins of the characters. 

It's likely that the symbiote's host is Harry Osborne, as was previously teased in the mid-credits scene of Marvel's Spider-Man. It appears that Insomniac is ripping a lot of the lore out of Ultimate Spider-Man, in which the symbiote was a man-made weapon created to remove cancer and other diseases from the host. The symbiote would of course go on to become a villain and try to eradicate Spider-Man and the entire world.
