Skydance New Media and Marvel Entertainment brought their forthcoming action-adventure game, 1943: Rise of Hydra, to the Game Developers Conference (GDC) event this week. The Story Trailer debuted at the start of Epic Games' State of Reveal presentation, in which Marvel officially announced the game's casting roll.
Players will be transported to Paris, France, during the turmoil of World War II, during which Captain America, Black Panther, and their allies have been operating actively throughout the game's narrative. This heroic guide reveals the confirmed characters and their voice actors involved in 1943: Rise of Hydra, as announced by Marvel.
All 1943: Rise Of Hydra Cast & Characters
Following the surprise reveal of Skydance and Marvel's forthcoming action-adventure game, 1943: Rise of Hydra, at Epic Games' State of Reveal presentation, Marvel announced the initial casting and characters for the game. Some of these central characters appeared during the Story Trailer that debuted at the keynote event, in which players will get to play four characters during pivotal points within the game's narrative.

Actor and producer Drew Moerlein will provide his voice for World War II hero, the Super Soldier Steve Rogers/Captain America, in a "narrative-driven action-adventure game." The actor has appeared in several projects for stage, screen, and video games, having provided his vocal talents in games including Horizon Forbidden West, Red Dead Redemption II, and Grand Theft Auto V and Online.
Taking the mantle of Azzuri, the Black Panther and T'Challa's grandfather is actor Khary Payton, whom audiences will recognize for his work as Ezekiel Sutton in the post-apocalyptic horror drama The Walking Dead. Payton has also lent his voice to several film and TV projects, including Invincible as Black Samson, the Penguin King in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Cyborg in Teen Titans GO! and the musical adventure RPG Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical.
Accompanying Azzuri are the Wakandan spy Nanali, who was implanted in Occupied Paris during WWII, and Megalyn Echikunwoke's voices. The American actress has appeared in multiple films and TV series over the years but recently provided her voice in a handful of video games, including Mortal Kombat 11 as Jacqui Briggs, LEGO DC Super-Villains, and Injustice 2 as Vixen, which she first portrayed this character in live action for the Arrow series.
Marque Richardson, best known for roles in the TV series Dear White People and True Blood, will portray Gabriel Jones, an American paratrooper and member of the Howling Commandos. Jones might team up with Cap in this action-adventure game, which may recount his time serving the U.S. Army and document his missions with the Howling Commandos.
Rounding out the initial casting is Belgian actress Lyne Renée as Julie, who is described as a "key ally in the French Resistance," the actress has appeared in projects like Gossip Girl, Deep State, and Split. Lastly, Joel Johnstone will join the cast as Howard Stark, one of the co-founders of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Tony Stark's father, who has an extensive filmography across film, TV and video games, including The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, CSI: Vegas, Horizon Forbidden West, and Metal Gear Survive.
According to the Story Trailer, 1943: Rise of Hydra will be launching sometime in 2025, with its release date to be confirmed at some point. Skydance and Marvel have yet to release details on which platforms the game will be released on, and we'll update this guide with the latest news.
