It's Halloween season, and the Symbiotes are returning for yet another invasion of Marvel Snap, this time adding more venomized chaos with new gameplay content and rewards to sink one's teeth into. One of the season's latest gameplay additions is a time-limited and electrifying game mode, High Voltage, in which Snappers can get their hands on a variety of tasty rewards.
But to get these rewards, they must acquaint themselves with the game mode's general rules to help them devise strategies to overwhelm their opponents and produce hypercharged decks to defeat them. This guide explains everything we know about the High Voltage game mode, including its start and end dates, gameplay rules, and rewards to claim in Marvel Snap.
What Is The High Voltage Game Mode In Marvel Snap?
High Voltage is a brand new limited-time game mode that will be debuting in the popular card battler for the "We Are Venom" season in October 2024. This electrifying game mode finds Snappers competing in lightning rounds where they'll give randomized Energy each turn (it will be the same for both players) to play those highly valuable cards, but do watch out for Shang-Chi, who may destroy them in the process.
The developer hopes this new blitz-like game "makes the world's fastest collectible card game even faster" with its high stakes and high Energy for a significant reward return for all Snappers. This includes a new card that can be earned through this game mode; however, if Snappers cannot get their hands on it, it will be available within the Token Shop as a Series 4 card drop from 31st October 2024.
How Does Gameplay Work For High Voltage Game Mode In Marvel Snap?
Based on the minimal details currently available in the "We Are Venom" patch notes and gameplay footage in the Developer Update, both Snappers will start a game with two cards and will be able to draw two additional cards per turn. Each Snapper will be given randomized Energy of the same value to play the cards within their hand at the various locations revealed in the game.
Specific locations "will be restricted," according to the developer, meaning Magik cannot use her abilities to open the portal to Limbo in this fast-pacing mode, but we're not too sure about Storm either. Each game in this electrifying game mode lasts three rounds, so there's no Snapping involved and no Cubes to wager, but each game, they'll receive Volts to fill up a reward meter, which, at every milestone, there's a new item to claim!
The High Voltage game mode is time-limited, so Snappers must bring their best decks and put them up against opponents in quick matches of three turns for massive rewards. This lightning-fast (and time-limited) game mode will be available in Marvel Snap for its "We Are Venom" season between 16th and 24th October 2024, so take advantage of the massive Energy gained "to make even bigger power swings."
What Rewards Are Available For The High Voltage Game Mode In Marvel Snap?
As we cannot confirm what the rewards Snappers can earn during the week-long intensifying game mode, we know they'll receive Volts from each game they've won. Additionally, they can earn Volts by completing High Voltage missions, akin to the Daily and Weekend Bonus Challenge Missions, which refresh periodically; however, they can spend likely Gold to refill the missions if needed.
This contributes to a reward meter visible on the event page, which, at each milestone, they'll earn a corresponding reward, which could be anything from cosmetic items like Borders, Credits, a Mystery Variant card, and one of the season's new card releases, Agony.
As of writing, we're unsure if the rewards to claim from the High Voltage game mode are the same as shown in the Developer Update video, except for the Agony base card and the specific milestone unlocks. We'll update this page with all the rewards and their milestone unlocks so Snappers can start spending that Energy on huge plays to outsmart the competition.
