The War of the Nine Realms season for Marvel Snap not only welcomes heroes and villains across the realms to the game, but it marks the return of the limited-time mode, Deadpool's Diner. DP is back once again, Chimichangas included, with some new optimizations, new Thanksgiving-themed tables, and plenty of rewards for Snappers to acquire during its run.
One reward that is up for grabs from Deadpool's Diner is the King of the Dwarves, Eitri, which Snappers will have to accumulate enough Bubs to unlock this card and add him to their Collection. With our smithing tools, we've prepared this guide on everything to know about King Eitri, including its card abilities, key synergies, top counters they may encounter, and some decks to include this card for Marvel Snap.
Marvel Snap King Eitri Card Abilities Explained
Eitri, the King of the Dwarves of Nidavellir, which Snappers should recognize this location in-game, has brought his reliable smithing capabilities to Marvel Snap in the latest iteration of Deadpool's Diner (and yes, that means DP is back... somehow). Snappers who are familiar with the Marvel Cinematic Universe will recall this character's brief yet important appearance in Avengers: Infinity War as the character who created Thor's Stormbreaker, but in comics, he too made his most iconic weapon, Mjolnir.
King Eitri has arrived to Marvel Snap as a one-Cost and two Power card with an ability that may synergize well with various deck archetypes and cards like Arishem, Loki, and Thanos. According to its official card description, it will draw a card from your deck "that didn't start there" when activated, meaning any cards that add cards to their deck, of which there are few that do this, King Eitri will draw it to their hand.
As mentioned before, it synergizes well with Arishem, Loki, and Thanos, with the latter adding Infinity Stones to their deck but also Beta Ray Bill and Thor, which adds Stormbreaker and Mjolnir to their deck. Quinjet may find some value with Eitri as it discounts cards' Costs if they didn't start from their decks, so it may be worth considering when deckbuilding.
In terms of card acquisition, King Eitri is available as a reward from Deadpool's Diner between 21st November and 3rd December 2024 once they've accumulated 15 million lifetime Bubs and can claim it from the Rewards Tracker. Alternatively, they can wait for the card's arrival as a Series 4 card drop to the Token Shop from 5th December 2024, likely costing them 3,000 Collector's Tokens.
Best Marvel Snap King Eitri Decks: Hammers, Hammers For Eitri
King Eitri has few weaknesses or counters like Elektra, Red Guardian, and Killmonger, but depending on whether the card it draws is an On Reveal or Ongoing, Goose, Rogue, Cosmo, and Enchantress are potential cards, too. Nevertheless, it's quite a powerful card when it can reliably draw an important card to play (i.e., an Infinity Stone, Stormbreaker, and Mjolnir) other than Jane Foster, especially when it can be played into Frigga to copy Eitri to their hand.
The Hammers archetype is one of the strongest decks to include King Eitri, like this powerful deck from Marvel Snap content creator ReZ Snapper. The bulk of this new Hammers variation deck is centered around Beta Ray Bill and Thor but also has Jane Foster as a backup for Eitri and Odin to retrigger the hammers if they are in play.
Some new additions to the deck include America Chavez, Agony, and Hulkbuster to buff specific cards and Medusa, which buffs itself when played at the center/middle location. Grandmaster can help retrigger America Chavez, Magik, or Misery before Odin can be played at the exact location as Stormbreaker and/or Mjolnir, which should give them victory!
Best Marvel Snap King Eitri Decks: Royal Arishem
We've mentioned that King Eitri synergizes well with Arishem as the card shuffles random cards into their deck with the bonus of granting Snappers +1 Energy at the start of the match. As such, this is where we're likely to see Quinjet appearing as it discounts cards' costs if they don't start in their deck to play more cards per turn.
A few surprise cards included in this royal deck are worthy of being housed in Asgard by Marvel Snap content creator DenHearthstone. Alongside Arishem, this deck also adds Thanos to add the six Infinity Stones to their deck and Loki to replace their deck with their opponent's starting deck, and every card will have -1 Cost, further strengthening Quinjet's Ongoing ability.
The rest of the deck sees a few tech cards featured like Shadow King to reset all cards' Power to their original values, Mobius M. Mobius to prevent your Costs from being increased and their opponent's Costs from being reduced, and Shang-Chi in the case of a high Powered card being played. Lastly, Blue Marvel will give all cards some power, Magneto will move cards away if they need location priority, and Alioth will remove the texts from their opponents' unrevealed cards.
Best Marvel Snap King Eitri Decks: King Gorr
We already have a deckbuilding guide on Gorr the God Butcher, so why not pair Gorr with King Eitri in a deck? Sounds like it may not work, but with the best synergistic cards, Snappers can make both works, and it can in this Gorrific deck.
Naturally, you'll want to spotlight cards that will add more cards to their deck as this deck once again features Thor and Beta Ray Bill with Jane Foster as a backup to King Eitri Odin to retrigger the hammers. This deck from Marvel Snap content creator Zodrex via Twitter adds a few more cards to give Snappers another strategy to win in case they may play Shang-Chi to destroy their Thor or Beta Ray Bill.
This deck also includes a few On Reveal cards (to increase Gorr's power), like Maria Hill to add a card to their hand while Pixie shuffles the base cards' Costs in their deck and MMM to prevent your Costs from being increased and their opponent's Costs from being reduced. Wiccan will give them +2 Energy if they've spent all their Energy in previous turns, which all the On Reveal cards in play will buff Gorr's power when it's eventually played.
