Following the first Developer Vision video released earlier this November, Marvel Rivals players gained a glimpse of what they can anticipate at launch and beyond. From new features, adjustments, and optimizations, more characters and Team-Up abilities, and a seasonal Battle Pass, they can also expect plenty of cosmetics inspired by Marvel Comics, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and other media forms post-launch.
Regarding new cosmetics, players can look forward to acquiring them; developer NetEase Games unveiled their latest Rivals Assemble video, a new cosmetic skin for one of the new playable characters that will be available at launch in December 2024. Announced in August 2024, the developer confirmed The Winter Soldier would join the ranks alongside Captain America as the Duelist character is getting quite the revolutionary skin to boast.
Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier was unveiled in August 2024 as one of the forthcoming playable heroes available upon the game's release and will be unlocked and free-to-play (F2P) to all players. The developer recently posted their latest Rivals Assemble video for the playable Duelist hero, revealing a new cosmetic skin inspired by the aforementioned character's more recent appearance.
The character who first debuted in Marvel Comics in 1941 as a "sidekick" to Steve Rogers / Captain America, it's a recent comic series, Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty, where NetEase Games designed The Winter Soldier's newest cosmetic skin. First appearing in Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty (2022) #6, the Winter Soldier made its debut with a new moniker, Revolution who became an antagonist to Captain America as a member of the Outer Circle and thus is the inspiration for the Revolution skin for The Winter Soldier in Marvel Rivals.
With plenty more daily announcements to be posted on Marvel Rivals' official digital and social media channels leading up to its global launch, we can expect a few more surprises, as we've recently seen with the announcement of Moon Knight as a playable hero. While it's also been made known during the recent Developer Vision video that most cosmetics will be available from the in-game Store and the seasonal Battle Pass, it remains unknown how this specific skin for The Winter Soldier can be obtained in Marvel Rivals at launch.
