Marvel Rivals developer NetEase Games gave players not one but two major reveals in the lead-up to the launch of the superhero team-based PvP shooter. The biggest reveal is announcing its next playable hero joining the roster, as previously teased in Moon Knight's character gameplay preview, which the developer confirmed will be available at launch this December.
The "Unmatched Sharpshooter" Clint Barton, better known as Hawkeye to comic book fans, has officially been confirmed as the latest Marvel character as a Duelist-classed hero, becoming the 28th playable hero following Moon Knight. The developer released an accompanying video showcasing the hero's combat kit, proving why he's a "master marksman with unparalleled precision."
Alongside the latest daily news announcement of a new Rivals Assemble video and a new cosmetic skin for another playable hero, NetEase Games confirmed Hawkeye as its newest member of the Marvel Rivals roster. The character will join the ensemble as he prepares to "ignite the battle," he'll be unlocked to all players when the game launches for consoles and PCs on 6th December 2024.
"Hawkeye is ready to take aim with his Piercing Arrow, charging his shot for just the right moment. Prepared to fight anyone at any distance, his blast arrow is sure to wreak havoc to those who dare try and get close to him. Deflecting his enemies is certainly no easy task, but he's ready to prove himself and take on the challenge," the official character description reads.
With a few short weeks left until Marvel Rivals officially launches, we anticipate the developer will reveal some sharpshooting cosmetic skins for Marvel's resident marksman. Marvel Rivals launches on PC via Epic Games Store and Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S consoles as Hawkeye will be unlocked and free-to-play to all players jumping in on its release day.
