Cheaters have plagued online multiplayer games since their inception, and while Marvel Rivals is relatively new, it’s no stranger to the cheating issues that modern games face. Fortunately, the development team has been working diligently not only to ban cheaters but also to involve players in the process by providing in-game updates through the "Cheater Detected" system. And fans are loving this approach.
Marvel Rivals Players Love the New "Cheater Detected" System
Season 1 has been a significant step forward for the developers at NetEase in tackling cheaters. They’ve implemented advanced detection tools to target players using keyboard and mouse converters on consoles and introduced a feature to disable mods that negatively impact gameplay. Now, they’ve gone even further by adding a system that alerts players when cheaters are in their lobby.

According to leaker RivalsInfo, players will now see a yellow "Match Terminated" screen whenever a cheater is detected. This feature, similar to systems in games like Valorant and Fortnite, notifies all players in the lobby that a cheater has been penalized, invalidating the match. No experience or rank points are awarded to either team after the game, ensuring fairness.
This new addition is being hailed as a major step forward in Rivals’ battle against cheaters. Fans have praised the developers on social media, with one commenting, “If only more games had this level of security,” and another adding, “How is this game giving gamers everything they’ve asked for? This is absolutely amazing!”
Considering we went against a cheater in comp who then got banned for 99 years I am so excited for this

While this system does not eliminate cheaters, it ensures that non-cheating players are informed when someone is caught and reassures them that matches involving cheaters won’t impact their progress. It’s a much-appreciated move that provides peace of mind for the community. Here’s hoping NetEase continues its crackdown on cheaters, making Marvel Rivals an even better experience for all players.
