LoL Champion Nilah - Abilities, Best Build

A new champion has joined the League of Legends roster, dubbed Nilah the Joy Unbound. She is a warrior ascetic and hails from a faraway land, but what most are curious about are her abilities and the best build to use for her character, and if you find yourself curious as well, then this guide is for you. 

We will be walking you through all of the new Champion Nilah's abilities, and give you some suggestions for the best build to use when playing her that we know of. As she is such a fresh addition, as the meta surrounding her changes, we will update our recommendations accordingly. 

LoL Champion Nilah's Abilities

Joy Unending

Nilah is bound to a powerful demon of joy, and her abilities stem from her being able to radiate that demon's energy as she fights. Her passive ability called Joy Unending buffs the amount of experience both Nilah and her party members gain when she last hits enemies. 

Along with this, half of the XP that would normally be lost during a joined last-hit attack is granted to Nilah and the nearest allied champ. Lastly, Nilah also receives additional benefits from her party heals and shares that buff with her nearby allies. 

Q Ability: Formless Blade

This ability gives Nilah further reach with her passive water-based whip sword ability, and on the active side, it provides Nilah a long cone-shaped attack in front of her. It increases her range and attack speed briefly when she hits an enemy with it. 

W Ability: Jubilant Veil

A cloud of mist envelops Nilah and grants her increased movement speed, a reduction of incoming magic damage, and an automatic dodge to all incoming basic attacks. She can also touch an ally while using this ability to grant them the same bonuses but for half the duration. 

E Ability: Slipstream

This allows Nilah to dash through a target, and deal damage to every enemy she phases through on the way to it. She can hold up to two charges of slipstream at a time and combo this with her Formless Blade ability, allowing her to pull enemies into her path and not only deal damage but also activates Nilahs empowered attacks. 

R Ability: Apotheosis

Nilah will spin her blade around her body, and any enemies caught in this attack are pulled towards her for the final burst attack. Any damage dealt by this will also heal Nilah by a portion of the damage dealt, and any excess healing will be converted into a shield.

This healing scales with crit strike change, and can be shared with her nearby allies as well.

LoL Champion Nilah's Best Build

Nilah's build is mainly focused on increasing her damage output and her passive abilities that buff her and her party memebers. Along with this, the Rune paths give her a boost in mana and health regeneration, and a few perks that give her a damage boost in battle.

Summoners Spells

• Cleanse - Negates all disable and summoner spell debuffs affecting your champion and lower the duration of incoming disables by 65% for 3 seconds. 
• Flash - Teleports your champion a short distance towards your cursor's location. 

Starter Items

• Dorans Blade - 8 Attack Damage. 
• Health Potion - Restore 150 health over 15 seconds.
• Stealth Ward - Place a ward on the ground that grants your team a vision of the surrounding area. 

Core Items

• Galeforce - Dash in a target direction and fire three missiles at the enemy nearest to you with the lowest health. 
• The Collector - Dealing damage to an enemy champion that would leave them below 5% health, automatically causes them to be executed. 
• Lord Dominik's Regards - Deal up to 15% bonus physical damage to champions with higher max health than you. 
• Rapid Firecannon - Moving and attacking generates an energized attack, once energized, your attack deals 120 bonus magic damage, and energized attacks gain up to 35% bonus attack range.
• Infinity Edge -If you have at least a 60% Crit strike chance, you gain 35% crit strike damage.
• Kraken Slayer - Every third attack deals an additional (50 + 40% bonus attack damage) true damage. 

Precision Path Runes

• Press the Attack - Hitting an enemy champion with three consecutive basic attacks deals 40 - 180 bonus adaptive damage (based on level) and makes them vulnerable, increasing the damage they can take from all sources by 8 - 12% for up to 6 seconds. 
• Presence of Mind - Damaging an enemy champion causes your mana to regenerate for 4 seconds. 
• Legend: Bloodline - Gain 0.4 Life Steal for every Legend Stack. At the maximum Legend Stack, you gain 100 max health. 
• Coup de Grace - Deal 8% more damage to champions whose health is less than 40%. 
• OR Cut Down - Deal 5 to 15% more damage to champions, based on how much higher their max health is than yours. 

Inspiration Path Runes

• Magical Footwear - Grants you an additional 10 move speed. 
• Biscuit Delivery - Gain a Total Biscuit of Everlasting Will every 2 minutes until 6 minutes. Each biscuit restores 10% of your health and mana, and consuming or selling one increases your mana cap by 50. 
• Cosmic Insight - Gain +18 Summoner Spell Haste and +10 Item Haste.
