Early this morning, on 19th July 2021, gaming peripherals company HyperX announced they’ve resigned 100 Thieves co-owner and popular YouTube streamer Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter. Valkyrae originally signed with the company as a brand ambassador in November of 2020. She decided to continue the sponsorship today.
Valkyrae resigns with HyperX
This announcement comes one week after HyperX revealed that Twitch streamer Timothy “TimTheTatman” Betar had also joined the brand ambassador program. HyperX has now locked up one of the top streamers on both Twitch and YouTube within a matter of one week.
Like TimTheTatman, Valkyrae will participate with HyperX in a wide variety of marketing activities. This includes “social activations and brand campaigns,” among other things. One of the more popular speculations is that both streamers will appear in commercials for the company. Fellow ambassador Gordon Hayward, NBA Forward for the Charlotte Hornets, famously appeared in several over the past few years.
When asked about the continued partnership, Valkyrae stated that “I'm thrilled to re-sign with HyperX and am looking forward to working together and using HyperX gear on my streams.” Regarding the gear she referenced, Valkyrae currently employs the HyperX Alloy Origins gaming keyboard as well as the HyperX Cloud MIX gaming headset, among other pieces, in her streams.
The partnership was obviously beneficial for both sides. Khoi Nguyen, influencing marketing manager for HyperX, made it clear that Valkyrae was and will remain a key cog in what they’re trying to do within the gaming community.
“HyperX is excited to be working with Valkyrae for another year and supporting the larger gaming community. Valkyrae is constantly pushing the limits of what it means to be a content creator, bringing her positivity-focused message to her fans, and we are thrilled to be part of that narrative for all that is good in gaming.”

It’s unclear if HyperX is planning to add any other top content creators to their brand ambassador and Hero programs. However, if the past week is any indication, fans should expect even more announcements.
