Soon after the launch of Apple iPhone 16 series, iOS 18 has been pushed out as well to iPhone X series and later. One of the highlighted features added to iOS 18 is the call recording which will not only do the basic recording function, but will also give you transcripts as well.
However, if you are unable to find the option to turn on call recording in it, here is how to do it.
iPhone iOS 18 Call Recording: How To Enable It?
The first thing that you need to make sure is that your iPhone is updated to iOS 18.1 version. If that's not the case, you can do it by going to Settings > General > Software Update and if you don't see an option to update to iOS 18.1, simply turn on the beta updates. Once you have the latest version, you can follow these simple steps to turn on call recording:
- Make a phone call to anyone and wait for them to pick it up.
- Now, look for the recording button that will get highlighted on the top left corner of your screen.
- Tap on it and you will get a prompt on the screen saying "This call will be recorded" and the person on the other side of the line will also get a notification about it.
- The call will start getting recorded automatically after that and once you end the call or stop recording manually by pressing the stop button, you can go to the Notes app to check the latest saved recording and transcripts for it.
Keep in mind that if you don't want to use the beta version due to unstability issues, you can enable call recording feature only on iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, or any iPhone 16 series phone. Apart from this, the feature is available in U.S., Australia, Mexico, China, Hong Kong, or South Korea only but will be expanded to other regions in the upcoming updates.
