Fortnite v21.20 Update Patch Notes (6 July) - Charge SMG, Indiana Jones

After a short server downtime, Epic Games has finally released the Fortnite v21.20 update. As per the update highlights, it’s the second biggest Fortnite patch ever since the release of Chapter 3 Season 3 Vibin.

According to the official patch notes, Fortnite v21.20 unvaults Charge SMG introduces Indiana Jones’ Battle Pass Quests and amendments to Ripsaw Launcher locations. Keep reading this article to have a detailed look at what’s included in the Fortnite 21.20 update.

Fortnite v21.20 (July 6) Patch Notes – Unlock Indiana Jones

The highly anticipated playable character, Indiana Jones, is now up for grabs in Fortnite.

The battle pass quests for the characters went live at 9 AM ET on July 6, 2022, and players can unlock the Indiana Jones Outfit and more items from his Set.

New Fortnite POI: Shuffled Shrines

With the 21.20 update, the Shuffled Shrines temple is back again on the Island. Explore the new place west of The Joneses for an adventure in ancient architecture.

New Fortnite Weapon: Charge SMG

Charge SMG has now been unvaulted and can be discovered on the island. Look for it on the ground, in chests, in supply drops, by hunting sharks, and via Reality Saplings.

You’ll activate a charge by holding down the trigger, and the more you hold it, the more bullets you’ll release when you let go.

You’ll see a gauge on-screen showing how far in the charge you are. Send a full strategic charge or a spontaneous partial charge

With the arrival of the Charge SMG, the Combat SMG has been vaulted.

Port-A-Fort Unvaulted

Port-A-Fort is back once again on Fortnite Island. Throw down a Port-A-Fort - found from the ground as well as Chests - to build a structural castle to get an ultimate cover during intense fights. Zero building is required, as the fort will arise on its own.

Ripsaw Launcher Locations

Even though Ripsaw Launcher Week has ended, you can still find Ripsaw Launchers from the ground, Chests, and Supply Drops in addition to The Chop Shop!

However, with Ripsaw Launcher Week being over, this weapon will be in a more standard supply.  

Competitive Notes:

• The Charge SMG is not included in competitive playlists.
• The Combat SMG has been vaulted in competitive playlists.
• The Port-A-Fort is not included in competitive playlists.
• In case you missed it: Last week, we removed Characters and wildlife from competitive playlists to improve server performance.

Major Bug Fixes

• Fixed an issue involving the icon of players’ Reality Sapling sometimes being misplaced on the Map page.
