UPDATE 1 - Some fans think the Demo might release this Sunday on June 11. This is partly due to streamer Ludwig, who revealed he had a sponsored stream for the game coming up, taking place on Monday, June 12. Given the proximity, it seems likely the demo could drop the day before.

It's possible that the demo may be released during the Final Fantasy 16 pre-launch celebration livestream, which starts at 3:00 PM PDT / 6:00 PM ET / 11:00 PM BST on Sunday, June 11, 2023.

Final Fantasy XVI Demo Release Date Speculation
The release window for the Final Fantasy XVI demo hasn't been officially announced by Square-Enix or Sony just yet. However, we're expecting the developers to reveal it during the PlayStation Showcase, scheduled for May 24th.
Meanwhile, the director and designer working for Square Enix, Naoki Yoshida, said in an interview that they're planning to release the Final Fantasy XVI trial version two weeks before the game's launch. If everything goes according to plan, the Final Fantasy XVI demo will release around June 8, 2023.
According to the official announcement, the demo will also showcase the game’s combat system, which combines action and strategy elements, as well as the game’s story, which revolves around Clive’s destiny as a Dominant, a person who can wield the power of an Eikon.
The best part is news that progress will carry over to the full game, so players can continue their adventure as Clive seamlessly when they purchase the full version. The demo will be available for download from the PlayStation Store soon.
In addition to the demo announcement, Sony also shared a new blog post that goes behind the scenes of how Square Enix built Final Fantasy XVI’s fantastical, believable, and lived-in world.
The post features interviews with producer Naoki Yoshida, art director Hiroshi Minagawa and localization director Michael-Christopher Koji Fox, who share their insights on the challenges and processes of creating Valisthea and its various regions, cultures, and histories. They also reveal some of the inspirations and influences behind the game’s setting, such as medieval Europe, Japanese folklore, and real-world locations.
