Elden Ring won multiple Game of the Year awards for many different reasons. The game is known for being very difficult but fun at the same time and has had huge sales throughout the year that it was released. On top of the gameplay, Elden Ring had very fitting and good graphics for the world FromSoftware was trying to convey.
Although the graphics were good in Elden Ring, they could always be improved upon. To make the game even more immersive, an update was just recently pushed for Elden Ring. Now Elden Ring has Ray Tracing support for those who are playing Elden Ring on the appropriate platforms that have it available.
Elden Ring Now Has Ray Tracing Support
Since the release of Elden Ring, FromSoftware has been slowly releasing updates to the game that improves a lot of aspects of the game. One of the biggest updates that they added was the Colosseum which is an area that helps facilitate the PvP aspect of Elden Ring. Now with the latest patch notes, Elden Ring is finally getting Ray Tracing.
Ray Tracing is essentially more realistic lighting to make a game more immersive. This could include a lot of different variables. This could mean light reflecting off of a pond, beams of light from light sources, and a lot more. The game should look very new by comparison if Ray Tracing is on.
Can Any Elden Ring Player Use Ray Tracing?
Ray Tracing has been a concept and a thing for a very long time, but video game companies have only recently been adding it to their games. Ray Tracing graphically challenges a game and, sometimes, even puts a strain on the overall performance of the game. Because of that, Ray Tracing will not be available for every platform Elden Ring is on.
If you want to have Ray Tracing on Elden Ring, you can only do it on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. If you are playing Elden Ring on any other platform, Ray Tracing will not work on that platform as they do not support it. So PlayStation 4 owners and Xbox One owners cannot use Ray Tracing at all. They will need to play Elden Ring on another platform if they want to experience it.
