How to upgrade the Sacred Flasks in Elden Ring

Flasks are vitally crucial for keeping you fit for battle in Elden Ring, particularly considering the vast array of enemies you will encounter in the Lands Between. There are two healing flasks in the game, replenishing HP/FP: the Flask of Crimson Tears and the Flask of Cerulean Tears.

While these standard flasks are practical early in the game, it's advisable to upgrade the Sacred Flasks to maximise your ability to heal, use weapon skills and summon spirits as you progress. Indeed, this would prove wise in avoiding the familiar "You are Dead" screen.

How to upgrade the Sacred Flasks in Elden Ring

Upgrading the Sacred Flasks is relatively straightforward and requires only two items: Golden Seeds and Sacred Tears, which increase the number of active charges and the amount of HP and FP replenished, respectively.

Where to find Golden Seeds in Elden Ring?

You can find Golden Seeds throughout the Lands Between underneath small golden Erdtree saplings sprouting along roads from the ground. They can also be located near specific landmarks around Limgrave, Stormveil Castle, Roundtable Hold, Caelid, Liurnia of the Lakes, Atlus Plateau and Royal Capital.

Where to find Sacred Tear in Elden Ring?

Sacred Tears are equally ubiquitous and are very easy to find. You can find them near churches throughout the map, including Limgrave, Liurnia of the Lakes and Altus Plateau. 

Once you have found them, the items are immediately deposited into your inventory. Afterwards, navigate back to the Site of Grace and upgrade the Sacred Flask. From the menu, select Flasks and select "Increase amount replenished by flasks."

Note that upgrading further will require more Golden Seeds, so it's advisable to farm these items whenever possible, as you would any other crucial item. Also, the flask will refill anytime you rest at the Site of Grace.
