Elden Ring is full of different Spirit Ashes for players to utilize in the Lands Between, and the Black Knife Tiche Ashes are a great choice for pure damage. But getting a hold of them is a more daunting task than many other options in the game.
Beyond taking on one of the Black Knife bosses, anyone willing to seek out the Tiche Ashes will need to pursue the Moonlight Altar. Reaching this area is tied entirely to the Ranni questline within Elden Ring, and can even lead you to the Darkmoon Greatsword. Alecto happens to be an option battle along the way.
How to get the Black Knife Tiche Ashes in Elden Ring
The most important step in getting Elden Ring's Black Knife Tiche Ashes is finding the Moonlight Altar. Unlike many other items in the game, you can't simply ride to this location. It's locked behind a few steps and is one of the highest points in Liurnia of the Lakes. If you were wondering why you couldn't reach the land at the bottom left of Liurina, this is the reason why.
To reach the Altar, you'll need to speak to Ranni in the Three Sister's area above Caria Manor. She will bring you in her service and you will be sent to find Nokron. To reach Nokron, defeat Starscourge Radahn in Caelid, and Nokron will open up through a hole in Nokron.
After getting the blade Ranni needs in Nokron, deliver it to her and head to the tower to the East. This will teleport you to Nokstella, where you'll need to descend. When you reach the area lit by red before the Scarlet Lake, sit down by a Grace and exhaust Ranni's dialogue.

When you reach the end of Nokstella and the lake, you'll fight against The Naturalborn of the Void. If you have completed these previous steps, you will have an open doorway to the Moonlight Altar.
At the northwestern tip of the altar, there is an Evergaol with a boss named Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader. Defeat this boss and you will be rewarded with the Black Knife Tiche Ashes.
How to use the Black Knife Tiche Ashes in Elden Ring
Once you have the Ashes, you can place in one of your many quick slots. Simply rotate to the Ashes in your pouch when you want to summon and hit your item button.
The catch is that you must have a rebirth monument around you in order to summon. This is always indicated by the blue monument symbol at the bottom left of the screen. On top of the monument, you will need at least 132 FP in order to summon the Tiche Ashes.
