Is Elden Ring Cross-Platform?

Elden Ring is one of the top-performing games in the entire world. The game was a critical success and was the game of the year for multiple websites and won many awards. Despite how difficult the game is, the gameplay and the lore attracted players from all over the world to Elden Ring. Many players are jumping into the game today as well.

As time moves forward, we are getting closer and closer to the release of the Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. With this DLC coming on, more players are buying Elden Ring for their chosen platform. With so many people getting ready for this DLC drop, players are starting to wonder if Elden Ring is cross-platform. Here, we will go over that answer.

Is Elden Ring A Cross-Platform Game?

Throughout the years of gaming, there have been many advances made to make video games more accessible for everyone. For example, cross-platform games allow those who own a game on one platform to play with people who own the game on a different platform. Elden Ring is available on PlayStation Consoles, Xbox Consoles, and PC. Not everyone owns Elden Ring on every platform of course, so the cross-platform play would be convenient.

However, this is not the case for Elden Ring. Elden Ring does not have cross-platform capabilities. That means that people who own Elden Ring on PlayStation cannot play with those who have it on PC. This goes for both cooperative play and competitive play. Players have to stick with those who are on their platform.

Will Elden Ring Ever Be Cross-Platform?

At the time of this current writing, it appears that there are no plans to make Elden Ring cross-platform compatible. FromSoftware has made quite a few games in their time and right now, none of their games are cross-platform. A lot of their games are done in the same style as Elden Ring, so, likely, the cross-platform capability will not happen soon.

But never say never. It is always a possibility that Elden Ring could become cross-platform. After all, the game was a critical success, and making it cross-platform would bring more eyes to this game. If Elden Ring ever became cross-platform, we will update this page accordingly. But for now, do not plan on Elden Ring becoming cross-platform.
