While the response to College Football 25 has been about as universally positive as it can get for a major sports franchise, there are still bugs and glitches the dev team has been hard at work trying to fix. The first major College Football 25 update dropped back on August 8, but there's plenty more to address. A larger update is expected in the coming weeks, but College Football 25 update 1.008 has now deployed on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
College Football 25 Update 1.008 Patch Notes (August 19)
EA Sports quietly deployed College Football 25 update 1.008 on August 19, but they've been tight lipped so far on detailing what this update addressed. No official College Football 25 patch notes have been released via Campus Huddle or on the EA Answers forum where smaller updates are sometimes outlined.
When the last College Football 25 update dropped on August 8, EA Sports also outlined a few issues they were still working on. We don't know for certain whether all of these have been fixed, but this is what they had on deck:
- When using schemes and playbooks to change your coach playbook/scheme, your player archetypes and OVRs change based on the scheme.
- Incoming freshman are not appearing in the Position Changes screen during the offseason.
- Annual Non-Conference games are not rotating.
Server maintenance apparently addressed some of these via a server side update, but they stated a full title update would need to deploy at a later date to fix these for offline dynasty. Fortunately, players on Reddit have identified several of these which seem to have been included in the latest College Football 25 update.
It seems the scorebug issue previously present in Online Dynasty has been fixed. Others have noticed that the playbook issue affecting player ratings is now fixed for offline Dynasty saves, and the offseason position changes bug should be fixed for freshmen. For those also enjoying Madden 25, we've got new details about some of the bugs they'll address soon in the first major title update.
