After years of anticipation, the full reveal of EA Sports College Football 25 has fans around the nation overjoyed that their favorite university's program will return to gaming. Some of the most gorgeous glimpses of pre-game rituals and other layers that add to the atmosphere, not to mention quality on-field action, are already impressing potential players. If you're excited about EA Sports College Football 25, they really just want you to remember that Madden 25 is coming too.
EA Sports MVP Bundle already has Madden leeching off College Football 25
With several years of development, not to mention the extended hiatus due to past NIL rules that have since changed, the reveal of EA Sports College Football 25 looked to finally assuage the doubts many fans had about the series return. Things had looked promising, but many fans have grown increasingly frustrated with the Madden franchise in recent years.
While EA Sports College Football 25 looked to set itself apart, and they've pushed the "not just another game" angle to stress that this is something special, the advertising from EA Sports out of the gate hasn't really helped that case. If anything, it feels like EA Sports College Football 25 is desperately bailing out water on the sinking ship that could be Madden 25.
Aside from a bit of fun with the "what will they call Madden 25" question (since a previous edition released in 2013 was also called Madden 25 to celebrate 25 years of the series), most of the conversation around Madden 25 is an extension of frustrations with Madden 24. The same complaints about limited Franchise Mode options and a somewhat repetetive career mode, not to mention the sluggish UI and microtransaction obsessed Ultimate Team focus, will likely carry over into Madden 25.
With that in mind, all the EA Sports socials advertising their new release are pushing fans directly to the EA Sports MVP Bundle rather than to any single edition of EA Sports College Football 25. Rather than pre ordering the game that was just revealed, ideally they want fans to pre order both it and Madden 25 before a single image or piece of game footage is ever released from Madden 25.
Madden 25 may be a big improvement, but too little is known
There are positive signs that Madden 25 could turn things around, the primary one being that "Superstar Drip Gear" and the "Legendary XP Boost" are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S exclusive rewards for Madden 25 with this bundle. We likely won't know more for several weeks, but that could indicate plans for a significantly upgraded career mode that may be exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S console.
When the dust settles, there's a chance that EA Sports College Football 25 could live up to the hype and Madden 25 could simultaneously give their own franchise the injection of fresh air and upgrades it so desperately needs. Unfortunately, the dust hasn't even begun to settle, and fans may want to take a wait and see approach for the time being.
One of the biggest hopes for many longtime players is sure to be connectivity between EA Sports College Football 25 and Madden 25 as games. If they've truly given career mode a proper reset in Madden 25, that could lead to gamers being able to transfer a Road to Glory career mode player from EA Sports College Football 25 into Madden 25 to continue their career after college.
These are all exciting possibilities, but we don't actually know if they'll become a reality this year or may be something still in development for Madden 26 and (presumably) EA Sports College Football 26. While not officially announced, we currently expect the main Madden 25 reveals to happen within the next four or five weeks. EA Sports College Football 25 is still about two months away, so there's plenty of time to wait for additional reveals.
