Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is set to continue Capcom’s streak of quality re-releases, giving players another chance to relive Frank West’s first adventure with quality-of-life improvements. The original game was exclusive to Xbox 360 for a long time before it was eventually ported to modern systems in recent years.
With the Deluxe Remaster giving this franchise a new lease on life, Capcom says they hope to expand on the Dead Rising franchise soon. This can mean a fifth official entry into this series or more remakes, but fans are excited about the news.
Speaking with IGN, the development team said they have “hopes of expanding upon the Dead Rising series in the future.” Assuming that Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster sells well, fans might be able to expect more entries in this underrated zombie franchise soon.
Capcom has steadily released remakes and new entries of Resident Evil in the past couple of years. Remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 filled the gap between Resident Evil 7 and Village. Fans were also given a great remake of Resident Evil 4 after the release of Village, with Capcom revealing that spin-off titles like Code Veronica are also in remake contention.
If Capcom can use a similar strategy to Dead Rising, it would raise interest in this zombie series. Many fans felt that the series jumped the shark after Dead Rising 4 stripped the series of its time limit and Frank West’s original personality, so this remake should be a good shakeup.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will be available digitally on September 19. The physical version will be released in November. Gamers can purchase this game on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
