Frank West is back, and looking better than ever in the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Featuring the same classic gameplay that you know and love, only now with drastically improved visuals and quality of life features.

As such, the core remains the same: survive 72 hours in the Willamette Parkview Mall, solve the case (or don't), and resuce as many survivors as you can. And there are a lot of people in need — but can you save everyone?

Yes, you absolutely can save every Survivor in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, though it requires a bit of patience and planning. There are 49 Survivors that can be saved in total, and that will count towards the final tally during the game's endings.

There are 11 'additional' Survivors found in the Entrance Plaza at the beginning of the game, and are scripted deaths that won't count towards your rescue numbers. A few other scripted deaths also won't count towards the total, as it is impossible to save them, such as Sid in the Leisure Park when the Prisoners attack.

A few of the notable characters will also count towards the Survivor numbers in some endings, such as Brad, Jessie, Dr. Barnaby, Ed the helicopter pilot, Isabela, and Otis. The maximum amount of people you can save is 53, as certain story elements prevent players from rescuing every character.

In order to save every possible survivor in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, you'll need to keep a few things in mind. You'll need to be careful not to leave an area once you've heard or seen a Survivor, as their health will begin to deteriorate rapidly once you do. You'll also need to pay attention to Otis' transmissions in order to get details on where Survivors could be.

The key thing to note, however, is that Frank can only escort eight Survivors at a time, and is known as the Eight Survivor Rule.

What is the Eight Survivor Rule?

The Eight Survivor Rule refers to Frank only being able to escort eight survivors at a time. Otis will not alert Frank to any additional Scoops if the amount of Survivors in your 'party' plus the number of Survivors in active Scoops equals or exceeds eight. This also includes Scoops that Frank never answers. Essentially,  if there's a possibility of rescuing a Survivor, it counts toward the Eight Survivor Rule.
