How to Speak to the Japanese Tourists in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

Yuu and Shinji need saving, but they only speak Japanese. Frank needs to get creative in order to save them.

While there's plenty of Survivor side quests that simply involve Frank rescuing them from danger and leading them back to the safe room, others are a bit more involved. In Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, two Japanese tourists have found themselves lost in Willamette Parkview Mall.

Much like the original game, the Japanese Tourist scoop has Frank head to Sir Book-a-Lot in Wonderland Plaza to find Yuu Tanaka and Shinji Kitano. The only problem is that when Frank gets there, the two tourists only speak Japanese, and will simply wander around the mall in a panic until Frank calms them down.

There's a little gimmick that Frank must master in order to save Yuu and Shinji, and it involves searching the bookstore that you found them in. You'll need to find and pick up the 'Japanese Conversation' book, found in the store. The book is on the floor to the right, in the section just infront of where Yuu and Shinji are found.

With this in hand, Frank will humorously communicate with the two in basic Japanese which will be enough to persuade them to accompany Frank back to the Saferoom.

This side quest can be undertaken around the time the 'Out Of Control' Scoop occurs. While this Scoop is triggered only by approaching the out of control ride controls, meaning that there's no danger of clown-Psychopath Adam attacking Yuu and Shinji, the two can actually help you take him down if equipped sufficiently. Offer each of the tourists handguns, easily found on some police zombies in the area, and they'll fire shots at Adam occasionally.
