With the upcoming launch of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, fans are wondering where exactly they can play the expansion. Obviously, they'll be able to play it on both major next-generation consoles and PCs, but will they be able to play it on the Steam Deck? We take a look for you and find out.
Will Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty run on the Steam Deck?
While there's no official word of whether the expansion will run on the Steam Deck, it seems fairly likely. The base game for Cyberpunk 2077 runs fine on the Steam Deck, with occasional dips and dives in framerate as is expected from a portable PC, and has run fine almost since the Steam Deck launch.
The big concern here is that according to several developers on the project Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is a lot more intensive on hardware than the base game, and combined with the additions that Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 is adding could present a tough task for the Steam Deck. Even then, it's likely that CD Projekt Red will issue several hotfixes and performance-addressing patches over the course of the next few months that will more than likely make the expansion run perfectly fine on the portable PC system.
