Seemingly out of nowhere, Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a 2.2 update with new features, CD Projekt Red just announced. Developers will hold an official livestream tomorrow, 10th December, at 4 PM UK / 11 AM ET, to dive into the new content and show it off to fans. Tomorrow also marks Cyberpunk 2077's fourth anniversary, making it the perfect time to release some new features for fans to check out.
This isn't the first time CD Projekt Red has released a surprise update for Cyberpunk 2077. Back in September, developers released a 2.13 patch for PC that offered support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3, Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.3, and the ability to enable both DLAA and DLSS Ray Reconstruction at the same time.
Many fans were pleasantly surprised by the news of the 2.2 update, especially since CD Projekt Red has already begun work on the sequel. Given the focus on the next instalment in the Cyberpunk 2077 series, many assumed the studio would be dedicating most of its resources to that project, making this unexpected update for the original game a welcome treat for current players.
The 2.2 Cyberpunk 2077 is an exciting early holiday present for fans, and we'll only need to wait a day to hear more about what's to come. For more information about the 2.2 update, fans can tune into CD Projekt Red's official livestream tomorrow.
