Cyberpunk 2077: Balls to the Wall Side Job Guide to Unlock Carmen (Iconic Weapon)

Check out our Balls to the Wall guide for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty if you want to get Carmen, an Iconic Power Assault Rifle, from Paco.

While much of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is focused on Solomon Reed and your entanglements to the NUSA President, players shouldn't miss the chance to take on the Balls to the Wall side job in Dogtown. You'll get a little insight on Kurt Hansen, but there's a lot more to gain.

We'll outline the choices you'll have to make during Balls to the Wall and which ones will put you on the right path. If you're hoping to score Carmen, an Iconic Power Assault Rifle, you'll have to make the right choices in this Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty mission.

You'll find the Balls to the Wall side job shown on the Dogtown map shown above. It should be available fairly early, but you may need to get through the first parts of Lucretia My Reflection (like the Chimera fight) before you can tackle this mission.

As you approach, two Barghest gang members will strike up a conversation. Once you start a conversation with Paco, he'll offer you a drink while you listen to his story and Babs offers her own additional commentary. While you aren't required to drink, you will have to hit the Deep Dive inhaler to continue this side job.

Once you take the Deep Dive, you'll dive into a distorted memory as Kurt Hansen. Your decisions in the Deep Dive aren't too critical, as Paco's storytelling will mostly be guiding things regardless. The first Deep Dive ends with a fist fight where you'll have to defeat Paco, and the second has a car chase that ends with you (Kurt Hansen) easily wiping out tons of scavs with a katana.

Once you've got the full story from Paco and have completed the deep dives, he'll offer you a critical choice. You can either suggest that Paco and Babs frame Yuri or you can tell them to run for the hills. If you want an Iconic Weapon, you'll need to tell them to run for the hills.

If you instead suggest they frame Yuri, this side job will go down quite a bit differently. You'll be told to meet Paco and Babs at an underpass the next evening. When you do, Yuri will show up instead and present you with a challenging (but beatable) mini boss fight.

After defeating him and reading a shard, you'll be sent to the Needle where Paco's dead body will be hanging on display. You'll get a final text conversation with Babs checking in, but she'll have split, Paco will be dead, and you won't have your Iconic Weapon.

If you instead choose to tell Paco to run for the hills, your next step will be getting him out of Dogtown. After you follow Paco to his car, he'll hide in the trunk as you smuggle him out of Dogtown and into the rest of Night City. Fortunately, a lead lining of the trunk will keep things smooth through the Dogtown exit scans.

Once you're out of Dogtown, go to the location marked on your map and let Paco out of the trunk. He'll text you a few days later asking you to meet him at The Afterlife, and that's when you'll be gifted Carmen, a Tier 3 Iconic Weapon and a particularly deadly Power Assault Rifle. Some conversation with Paco will reveal his own plans, but this wraps up Balls to the Wall as a side job and awards you an easy to miss Iconic Weapon.
