Xbox fans will have plenty of exciting new releases to sink their teeth into in February. From multi-platforms like Elden Ring to exclusives such as CrossfireX, the third instalment on the long-running franchise, set to debut on 10th February.
The original title developed by Smilegame Entertainment released back in 2007 was a smash hit in South Korea and China. Garnering over a billion registered players and peaks of six million concurrent players according to the developers in 2020, the title is finally making it to western audiences with CrossfireX.
CrossfireX is far from just a simple port with enhanced graphics, while the multiplayer offering will remain free-to-play for everyone interested in the highly tense, CS:GO-like gameplay, the FPS will also feature a cinematic campaign for the first time in franchise history.
Smilegate didn't sign just anyone to tackle it, opting for veteran studio Remedy Entertainment, better known for massively influential games such as Max Payne 1 and 2 or experimental titles like Control and Quantum Break.
What's more, part of the experience can be accessed via Xbox Game Pass, giving players a glimpse into what the Finnish studio was able to cook up in what's essentially the first time they develop an FPS.
Players looking to sneak in a few hours of CrossfireX before the big late February release might be wondering how long it will take you to tackle the campaign. Furthermore, having two separate story modes have made things more confusing, so we're here to help.
How long to beat CrossfireX's campaign
Before we get to the numbers, it's worth pointing out that CrossfireX will launch with a somewhat split campaign. As the story follows two military factions -- Global Risk and Black List.
Operation Catalyst will be available via Xbox Game Pass, meanwhile, Operation Spectre can only be accessed after purchasing the Ultimate Pack, which costs $30 or the equivalent depending on your region. Buying it will give you both Operations and access to the Season 1 Battle Pass.
At the time of writing, aggregate sites like How Long to Beat have yet to give us an estimated campaign length time. In multiple campaign previews, such as the Easy Allies embedded down below, they describe the Operations as "pretty long," with demos reaching over six hours in length.
As soon as we get more information, we'll be sure to update the article accordingly.
