CrossfireX is an upcoming tactical first-person shooter developed by Remedy Entertainment and Smilegate Entertainment, and it marks the first title in the franchise to be released for the western market.
The original game, Crossfire, is an immensely popular tactical shooter in the East, in countries such as South Korea and China, and it bears a significant resemblance to the Counter-Strike series.
Crossfire's developers and publishers, Smilegate Entertainment, have joined forces with Microsoft and Remedy Entertainment in order to bring the franchise for the first time to the western audience and consoles. After a relatively quiet period of development, we're now close to the game's release.
Crossfire is releasing in Europe and North America as CrossfireX, and asides from the well-known multiplayer it will feature a single-player component as well, with several narrative-driven operations, developed by Remedy Entertainment.
If you want to play the game as soon as it becomes available, here's what you need to know.
CrossfireX file size
CrossfireX shares the same assets as the original CrossFire game released back in 2007, and despite numerous improvements and switch to Unreal Engine 4, it's still a relatively undemanding game.
This goes for the space you will need to allocate for it on your drive as well.
If you want to install CrossfireX on your Xbox, you will need only 10 GB of space.
It should be noted that the single-player portion is being developed in a separate engine, Remedy's in-house Northlight Engine, and we are not sure how will this impact the total size of the game.
When can you pre-load CrossfireX?
At the time of writing, CrossfireX is already available for pre-load on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
