s1mple Comments on Long-Awaited Return to CS2

Superstar Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev is considered the GOAT (greatest of all time) of Counter-Strike. In October 2023, fans were left heartbroken as the Ukrainian AWPer took an extended break from competitive Counter-Strike to take care of people in his life.

It's creeping up to a year since s1mple took second place with NAVI at ESL Pro League Season 18, and his only recorded match since was as a stand-in for Team Falcons on 7 March 2024 at the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown.

Now, s1mple has commended on his return after a light exchange about football with Thorin on X.

In classic Duncan "⁠Thorin⁠" Shields fashion, when s1mple said he bet on England, but his heart is cheering for Spain in the Euro 2024, Thorin engaged by saying, "F##k your heart!" and after a bit of back and forth, Thorin asked s1mple "When you coming back?" to which the GOAT replied:

There is, of course, no indication of exactly when s1mple will return to competitive Counter-Strike. Remember, s1mple only has one competitive CS2 match on record, with Team Falcons as a stand-in, on 7 March 2024.
