Superstar Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev is considered the GOAT (greatest of all time) of Counter-Strike. In October 2023, fans were left heartbroken as the Ukrainian AWPer took an extended break from competitive Counter-Strike to take care of people in his life.
It's creeping up to a year since s1mple took second place with NAVI at ESL Pro League Season 18, and his only recorded match since was as a stand-in for Team Falcons on 7 March 2024 at the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown.
Now, s1mple has commended on his return after a light exchange about football with Thorin on X.

In classic Duncan "Thorin" Shields fashion, when s1mple said he bet on England, but his heart is cheering for Spain in the Euro 2024, Thorin engaged by saying, "F##k your heart!" and after a bit of back and forth, Thorin asked s1mple "When you coming back?" to which the GOAT replied:

There is, of course, no indication of exactly when s1mple will return to competitive Counter-Strike. Remember, s1mple only has one competitive CS2 match on record, with Team Falcons as a stand-in, on 7 March 2024.
