Nikola "NiKo" Kovač is considered the best rifler in modern Counter-Strike, a legend of the scene, and one of the only players to consistently remain in the top five. He also sometimes wears his heart on his sleeve, and in the G2 Esports vs. Vitality match at the BLAST Fall Final 2024 event, this was on full display.
You'll probably see hundreds of memes pop up soon and wonder what happened with the hole in NiKo's table. Well, it's hilarious, but it was almost heartbreaking. NiKo nearly pulled off an ace clutch against Vitality in the 16th round of the third and deciding map (Mirage), with a spot in the grand finale on the line. However, NiKo missed a sitter of a shot, and Vitality's IGL, apEX, turned around and took him out.
NiKo punched his table so hard he left a fist-shaped hole in a moment of pure passion and frustration.
After G2 Esports completed the shocking reverse sweep and sent Vitality packing, James Banks even gave NiKo the table with a hole in it. The presenters are definitely having fun with it, and it got the crowd in the Forum Copenhagen venue cheering for G2 like never before.
Check out the ace clutch attempt in question below.
While some might argue this isn't something to laugh about, as NiKo even bled, we heard him joke about it on stream via a snippet of team coms. He is taking it as a badge of honor, and it turned into a beautiful story, as G2 did manage to make a comeback.
Maybe for the grand final against either NAVI or FaZe Clan, they should get NiKo a stronger table...
