Cats were finally introduced to The Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah in the Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery Chapter 2 update, along with revamps to the Pet mechanic. These feline pets can function as your animal companion, as a few breeds can be found throughout these regions and brought back to your home.
The good news is that it's relatively easy to catch; however, where to find Stray Cats in Conan Exiles will have you unleashing your inner feline prowess to acquire one. This guide details all Stray Cat locations in The Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah for Conan Exiles.
Conan Exiles: All Stray Cat Locations
Three cat breeds, namely black, Siamese, and Tabby, are available for free; each has an equal chance of spawning at any known locations, often in medium to large campsites and settlements. A fourth feline breed, the Majestic Sphinx, can be acquired as a reward from Chapter 2’s Battle Pass system, and it’s likely purchasable at the Bazaar.
The best locations to find these cats are at Sepermaru, City of the Relic Hunters, the top and around Buccaneer Bay, and New Asagarth in the Exiled Lands. But if you’re out exploring the Isle of Siptah, you can find several cats in various locations near camps, including the Camp of the Castaways and Bastard’s Stand.
These cats will often be spotted roaming around the areas, especially inside homes and tents, other buildings and structures like bars and markets, and along beaches and jetties. While its in-game description states that to attract them, you can feed them fish heads; however, this doesn’t appear to be accurate as you kneel to them and pick them up before bringing them home.
You can approach any cat you may find and add them to your Inventory before bringing them back home. To domesticate the cats, place them in an Animal Pen, and don’t forget to feed them through the Feed Box, which can also be crafted, and you’ll have successfully tamed a cat.
Additionally, you can upgrade the Animal Pen to make taming animals faster and increase its capacity for the number of animals you can hold. Crafting the Small Animal Pen requires 100 Wood, 75 Stones, and five Twine; for the standard Animal Pen, you’ll need 400 Wood, 300 Stone, and 20 Twine to complete the build.
