The next age for the survival MMO Conan Exiles sets off into the Exiled Lands and neighboring Isle of Siptah in pursuit of those with valor and heroism. Developer and publisher Funcom welcomes new and returning Exiles to the Age of Heroes update, which Chapter 1 goes live for consoles and PCs on 17th October 2024, adding a host of new features, gameplay mechanics, and more.

This new age for the survival MMO finds players emerging "from the ashes of war" into the dawning of a new era where they can find heroes for hire or civilians in dire need of assistance across the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah. Lend aid to civilians and embark on new storylines and quests to gain loyalty and trust from new Companions, which two new allies come with new interactive features and "unique perks" that are unlocked based on the player's "actions and decisions" during these adventures.

Companions have been a mainstay in this survival MMO through Followers and Thralls, but the Age of Heroes introduces two "fully voiced companion characters" in Liu Fei and the Aesir warrior, Freya. Both voiced "companion characters" have character perks "that shape their abilities" and can be unlocked based on "actions and decisions" we've made during their questline, so do pay attention to these details as their skill set will ultimately be reflective as such.

Funcom has added new improvements to the gameplay, which converts Thralls from "static workstation" upgrades to living NPCs within their settlements, which have "needs and reactions to the world around them." This is the new gameplay feature, Living Settlements, where their worker Thralls are "freed from their restraints," which changes their settlements to a growing metropolis but comes with new challenges.

These workers now have a unique set of needs to be met and will seek it out throughout the base with new animations that indicate their current needs. An example of this would be if a worker has a hunger need, they will search the base for a seating area to enjoy a hearty meal or drink, while a sleeping need requires beds, not bed rolls Exiled Ones!

The Age of Heroes will be the first season without a Battle Pass system in play, a decision that the developer addressed, and as such, the rewards will be distributed to players by other means. That said, the Bazaar Shop will refresh for the Age of Heroes Chapter 1, in which players can find new items, including new cosmetics, weapons, armor, and decor items, and more items for the Argossean building set, like the observatory can be purchased.

Walk in the footsteps of the greatest Hero to have traversed the Exiled Lands, Conan the Barbarian, with the Age of Heroes Chapter 1 now available for PC via Epic Games Store, GOG.com and Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Exiles playing on Xbox consoles can also find Conan Exiles available through the Xbox Game Pass subscription service and explore the journies of the two new Companions in-game.
