In the treacherous worlds of The Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah, players must face brutal challenges, extreme heat, and dangerous terrain in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery. Thankfully, the Map Room can help you navigate these perilous conditions, which include changing weather to hostile enemies.
Accordingly, many players might wonder how to unlock the Map Room in Conan Exiles. Indeed, you'll need to venture deep into The Exiled Lands in search of a mysterious NPC called The Archivist. But fear not. Here's everything about unlocking the Map Room and learning how to craft it in Conan Exiles, making your journey through the game more manageable.
Conan Exiles: How To Unlock Map Room
The Map Room is a crafted structure and replica of the actual Map Room situated beneath The Unnamed City. To find it, head to the Obelisk at the specified location. From there, follow the corridor away from the Obelisk and descend the stairs until you reach The Archives, where you'll encounter The Archivist. Upon meeting him, you can learn the Cartographer Knowledge and unlock blueprints for the Map Room and Corrupted Stone.
In Conan Exiles, the Map Room at The Unnamed City doesn’t function, so you’ll need to craft one back at your home base. However, it’s important to note that it won’t work if placed on the Isle of Siptah, so it must be placed in The Exiled Lands. As for what it can be used for, the Map Room serves as a Teleportation or Fast Travel hub for Conan Exiles. You’ll need to locate Obelisks scattered throughout The Exiled Lands, which you must activate for the Obelisk to work in the Map Room.
Conan Exiles: How To Craft Map Room
You'll need a Construction Hammer and an Alchemy Bench to craft the Map Room in Conan Exiles. First, create Corrupted Stone using two Stones, one Ichor and one Demon Blood. Next, gather the necessary materials, excluding the Corrupted Stone, and use the Construction Hammer to construct the Map Room. Here's a list of the required materials:
- Corrupted Stone x500
- Alchemical Base x75
- Crystal x50
- Iron Reinforcement x35
Once crafted, you can place the Map Room at your home base and pick it up, but its placement can be tricky due to some known bugs. In addition, because of its size, it requires elevation to achieve a proper angle for placement, which also complicates placing it within structures, as it can interfere with the roof.
Ideally, place the Map Room in an 8x8 walled room without a roof. You'll need 150 Corrupted Stones and 27 Iron Reinforcements to repair the Map Room in Conan Exiles. If you choose to destroy it, you'll receive 30 Corrupted Stone and six Iron Reinforcements. Currently, there are no upgrades for the Map Room, and it is unclear when it will become functional on the Isle of Siptah.
