This in-game activity will be permanent gameplay content added to the base game once Chapter 3 is exclusively for the Exiled Lands, but it could be added to the Isle of Siptah in a future update. The Stygians have been hard at work constructing their fortress in the Exiled Lands as players can reap the rewards should they choose to battle against them.
Previously the ruins of al-Merayah, this Stygian fortress will play host to Sieges, which players can get involved in as a solo player, with the Clan or other players online. According to the developer, a recommended level requirement is between Level 55 and 60 for the best in-game experience possible when engaging in PvE Sieges.
The fortress has plenty of structures that can be destroyed, akin to their player or Clan base, giving players plenty of options to bring down their defenses. This includes explosive weapons like Explosives Jars and traps and various Siege weapons like the Trebuchet and Siege Cauldron, which can be crafted.
Thralls can also be utilized for PvE Sieges, especially for solo players, and various sorceries can also come into play when accessing the fortress. Another new addition included with this update is the Battering Ram, which can also be used in Sieges to destroy structures and doors and can be found somewhere throughout the fortress, so be strategic as they will be destroyed after a couple of uses.
Once inside, they’ll need to eliminate the Stygian Defenders, which will spawn in waves until players have successfully breached the inside of the fortress. To support them in this conquest, various caches are littered throughout the fortress, which can aid them in gaining access to the fortress once the gates have been destroyed.
PvE Sieges will introduce some Quality-of-Life (QoL) updates, including reducing the HP of doors, walls, and gates, which may help them break down the Stygian defenses. With the structures and gates destroyed and the Stygian Defenders defeated, they’ll be greeted by the Siege Commander, who will drop Legendary items once defeated, akin to the Dungeon Bosses.
Additionally, the room where the Siege Commander is located has plenty of Gold that can be looted and added to their Treasure Coffers following the Siege. After successfully defeating the Siege Commander, the Stygian Fortress will reset once all players have left the vicinity of the fortress for the next Siege to begin.
The Age of War Chapter 3 update is available in Public Beta, which will be launching on 14th December 2023. Conan Exiles is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Epic Games Store and Steam.
