Increase your encumbrance to carry more items when harvesting or building as we explored the best Encumbrance build for Conan Exiles.
Conan Exiles Encumbrance Build: Best Attributes, Armor, Skills, More

Exploring the vast open world of The Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah will have you harvest, mine, and loot items that could be of significant value when crafting. This can have you to encounter a prominent issue within RPGs and MMOs: over-encumbrance, which can add weight to your load and hinder movement.

If you want to learn how to increase the capacity to carry more without sacrificing your weight and movement, read further in this guide on the Encumbrance build. So, before you pick up the next piece of wood or armor, we've explained how to acquire the best Encumbrance build in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery.

Best Encumbrance Build In Conan Exiles Age Of Sorcery

The encumbrance build primarily focuses on increasing your encumbrance, which allows you to carry more within your Inventory. This can be extremely vital as this build can be worthwhile when harvesting, mining, or building without hindering your movement speed.

Additionally, you’ll be equipping Light Armor pieces which won’t offer much protection from incoming attacks. Nevertheless, tweaking your Attributes to assist in HP and Stamina recovery and increasing your damage output should mitigate the lack of armor protection.

Conan Exiles Encumbrance Build: Best Attributes, Stats & Perks

This specific build focuses on maxing your carry capacity without over-encumbering, which can slow your movement speed and make you prone to attacks. In terms of Attributes, your points will be spent on Strength with an emphasis on Grit and Expertise to get specific perks that can contribute to increasing your weight load but retaining your normal movement speed.

  • Strength: 20 (Max)
  • Agility: 0
  • Vitality: 10
  • Authority: 0
  • Grit: 15
  • Expertise: 15

Strength:

Choosing Strength over Agility determines the damage dealt by Strength-based weapons and increases your load. Additionally, you’ll be gaining bonuses for increased armor and damage under different conditions.

  • Heavy Blows: Deal 10% more damage using heavy and special attacks.
  • Second Skin: All equipped armor pieces or an armor set will have their weight reduced by 25%.
  • Berserker: If your HP drops below 50%, you’ll inflict 25% increased damage while gaining 100 Armor.
  • Blood-mad Berserker: If you drop below 25% health, you won’t get staggered or knocked down, but your damage will be increased by 10%, and you will gain 50 Armor.

Vitality:

The Vitality attribute primarily deals with your health or HP, which you’ll max out to gain the various perks for this build. You’ll need as much HP regeneration as possible, so you’ll be spending much of your Attribute points in Vitality.

  • Fierce Vitality: You will gain passive health regeneration.
  • Resurgence: You’ll gain a once-off healing effect if your HP drops below 50%, but it can be received once you’re completely healed.

Grit:

The Grit attribute will influence your Stamina pool's size and directly affect the armor equipped. As HP and Stamina will be a massive issue with this build due to the Armor weight, you’ll need to get the perks to help you regain that Stamina.

  • Tenacity: Your armor is increased by 40 and your Stamina by 20.
  • Endurance: Stamina regenerates 25% faster.
  • Defensive Posture: Incoming damage will be 15% less when attacking or blocking.

Expertise:

The final Attribute category deals with the encumbrance: how much load or weight you can carry and which armor, weapons, and tools can contribute. This will affect your Stamina as the heavier the load, the more Stamina will be used to perform actions like dashing, running, and sprinting.

  • Survivalist: All tools can lose their durability 50% faster while hunger and thirst decrease 33% slower.
  • Efficient Harvest: The last hit landed on a node during harvesting awards you double resources.
  • Hard Worker: Harvesting nodes become twice as fast.

Conan Exiles Encumbrance Build: Best Weapons, Armor & More

You’ll be equipped with various armor pieces with the Carrying Capacity bonus to increase your encumbrance. The essential armor piece you’ll need is the Bearer’s Pack which grants you 45 Carrying Capacity as it’s considered Light Armor so it won’t add much to your overall Armor Value.

The remaining Armor slots will come with the bonus mentioned above to increase your Carrying Capacity without weighing too much and further contributing to your Armor Value. As you’ll have more options in armor selections, some pieces will be harder to get, like the Noble Skirt and War Mammoth Boots.

  • Remnant Chestpiece or Primitive Chestpiece
  • Silent Legion Light Gauntlets
  • Noble Skirt or Remnant Tasset or Primitive Skirt
  • Boots of the Serpent or War Mammoth Boots

One thing to note is that you can further increase the Carrying Capacity bonus by crafting your armor pieces at Tier 3 and higher or a named Armorer. The Carrying Capacity will increase, and so will the Durability and Armor Value stats with the armor weight being decreased.

Before the 3.0 Age of Sorcery update, Warpaints could further add to increasing your encumbrance; however, they no longer have that effect and are now purely cosmetic. You'll need various buffs complimenting this build to enhance the Attribute perks and armor bonuses further.

The Lasting Feast will temporarily grant you an additional 45 Carrying Capacity which makes this delicious meal more accessible to cook. Additionally, you can loot them from various chests through The Exiled Lands, so you’ll have no issue getting this meal.

You can also consume the Elixir of Numbing, which like the Lasting Feast, adds 45 additional Carrying Capacity and is also accessible to get. For weapons, you can add some weight to your existing load by wielding weapons that scale with Strength, like spears, axes, one-handed swords, and maces.

As this build can be used in harvesting, mining, and building, and you’ll have the Star Metal Pick Axe or The Beak if you’re on the Isle of Siptah on hand, it would be advised to craft the Star Metal Sword with a T4 Edgesmith Thrall for better Armor Penetration stats. Telith’s Sorrow and Lament are good considerations, especially in the late game, but if you’re on the Isle of Siptah, Sword of the Legion and the Greatsword of the Legion are other notable options.
