Since the Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery update, players have found more ways to build their characters with Sorceries, representing an overhaul of the Attribute system. The new system also introduced Corruption, which grants you the choice to sacrifice your Health and Stamina by unlocking various perks and channeling the dark forces within.
The more Corruption you’ve gained, the more Health and Stamina you’ll lose over time. So naturally, players have wondered how to get and remove Corruption in Conan Exiles. If you want to understand the nature of Corruption further, don't worry. We’ve detailed everything you need to know about Corruption in Conan Exiles, including how to get and remove it.
Conan Exiles Corruption: How To Get And Remove
By now, you should be familiar with the Corruption status effect and how it can influence your character’s Health and Stamina. In simple terms, the more Corruption you’ve gained, the more damage it does to your Health and Stamina; however, your power will significantly increase. You can get three types of Corruption in Conan Exiles: Normal, Permanent, and Tainted. Each can be acquired and cleansed differently, but there have similar effects on your character’s Health and Stamina.
Normal Corruption is the easiest type of Corruption you can get in Conan Exiles by carrying a corrupted item, entering areas contaminated with Corruption, or battling against corrupted enemies and animals. This type is also the easiest to cleanse as consuming a Heart of a Hero or Cleansing Brew, wearing the Champion’s Leggings armor piece, and having an Entertainer Thrall accompanying you can rid you of Corruption.
Tainted Corruption mainly concerns itself with Sorcery in Conan Exiles, as you can gain Corruption by using the Transportory Stone and casting magic as a Sorcerer. You can use the methods mentioned above to cleanse Corruption; however, it does wear off after a few minutes. That said, the only real difference is that Tainted Corruption can exceed its max cap of 50%.
The final type of Corruption, Permanent Corruption, can be acquired through your Attributes. You’ll need five Soul Essences to corrupt one Attribute perk, as fully corrupting an Attribute skill will require 20 Soul Essences. In addition, you'll gain a small amount of Corruption per Attribute with the max level at 50%, but removing this Corruption can be done using Yellow Lotus Potion, Potion of Bestial Memory, or resetting your Attributes.
