How to Combine Orb Effects In Conan Exiles

Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery features many Journey Steps, granting valuable experience (XP) that is integral to your character's leveling. Learning how to combine Orb Effects is one of them. Notably, four Orbs are available for crafting in Conan Exiles.

Each of these have special effects that might be beneficial for a multitude of reasons. However, combining Orb Effects can be especially powerful and lethal to enemies. This guide will detail how to craft and combine Orb Effects in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery.

Conan Exiles - How To Craft & Use Orb Effects

There are four different kinds of Orbs you can craft at any Alchemist Bench in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery. These include Demon-fire, Gaseous, Grease, and Water Orbs.

We've listed each below and provided a brief description of each.

Demon-fire Orb

Demon-fire Orbs leave a fiery patch that deals continuous damage. These are best used in conjunction with Grease Orbs and Gaseous Orbs. You will need 1x Water Orb and 5x Volatile Gland to make this Orb.

Gaseous Orb

Use this Orb as poisonous gas. Like Demon-fire Orbs, these also leave a continuous damage effect on your enemies. You will need 1x Water Orb and 10x Puffball Mushrooms to make Gaseous Orbs in Conan Exiles.

Grease Orb

This Orb is used to make slippery surfaces and is a valuable item to use to prevent climbers on your walls. However, you can also use it to set things on fire. You will need 1x Water Orb and 5x Tar to craft a Grease Orb.

Water Orbs

Water Orbs can be used to put out fires from a distance. It requires 1x Water-filled Glass Flask and 1x Ichor to make.

There are several other use cases for Orbs, including using them to extinguish torches or campfires. You can also use them as attacks. Using Orbs as a Light Attack will make the Orb bounce off the surface you throw, resulting in a delayed explosion. However, using it as a Heavy Attack will make the Orb explode directly on impact. 

Conan Exiles - How To Combine Orb Effects

Once you have crafted a few Orbs, you can also combine their effects. To do this, make your way outside away from your base with the Demon-fire Orb and Grease Orb. Also, ensure you're in an area away from any of your buildings or structures. 

Throw the Demon-fire Orb at an object and let it explode. Then, throw the Grease Orb in the same location as the Demon-fire Orb and let it explode. Afterward, you will receive an achievement entitled Journey Step Completed and will be able to use the combined Orb Effects.
