Your explorations of The Exiled Lands will have you encounter dangerous and, at times, strange occurrences. While death is almost everything where you go, whether it's threats looking to eliminate you or seeing signs of death and decay in the guise of human and animal bones resting on the ground.
Bones can thus be used in multiple ways for crafting, casting sorceries, and even food; players looking to collect this material will need to know how to acquire them in-game. In this guide, we've carefully explained how to get Bones and how to use them best in Conan Exiles.
How To Farm Bones In Conan Exiles?
Bones are a peculiar material to acquire, but they can be easily found and have multiple uses, most commonly for sorcery and equipment. One of the easiest methods of getting bones is through exploration, as you’ll find dried animal carcasses for which you can utilize a pick or pickaxe to harvest them.
While this may also be slightly difficult to get as the locations of these dried animal carcasses are random, animals can also drop bones. After killing an animal, you can harvest the corpse for meat, blood, and a few other valuable resources, but bones can be obtained almost all the time.
Only some animals can be harvested for bones, as a few guarantees you will acquire this material. We’ve listed the animals which you can get bones from once they’ve been defeated in Conan Exiles:
- Black Bear Cub
- Black Rhino
- Bone Guardian
- Brown Bear Cub
- Champion Demon-bat
- Corrupted Crocodile
- Corrupted Grey Ape
- Crocodile
- Crocodile Hatchling
- Elephant
- Elk
- Elk King
- Gorilla
- Grey Ape
- Jaguar Cub
- Keeper of the Light
- King Rhino
- Komodo
- Mammoth
- Ostrich
- Panther Cub
- Rabbit
- Sabretooth Cub
- Salamander
- Shaleback, Shaleback Hatchling, and Shaleback King
- Silverback Gorilla
- Skeleton (Normal, Armored, Darfari, Dregs, and Serpentman)
- Spotted and Striped Hyena Cub
- Tiger Cub
- Undead Dragon
Once you’ve harvested these bones from the animals listed above, this material can be utilized for various crafting purposes, mainly for equipment like armor and weapons. You can handcraft items, including arrows, shields, and swords, using bones and other crafting materials like Branches, Plant Fibers, and Twine.
Using the Armorer’s Bench, Bones can make various armor sets, specifically pieces from the Dafari, Hyena, and Unholy Communion armor sets. Crafted upgraded versions of the Unholy communion armor sets required higher variants of the Armorer’s Bench.
Bones can also produce various furnishings for your home base, but you’ll need the Artisan Table to achieve this. Bones also form the basis of a few consumables items, most commonly Bonemeal and Bone Broth, which require the grinder and Stove stations.
Lastly, Bones are mainly used to produce Burlap Pouches, integral for casting sorceries with a staff. It’s also used for “ceremonial” purposes as human sacrifices can be placed within the Pit of Yog, which requires Bones, Twine, and Wood to craft this structure and upgraded variants of it like the Rift of Yog and the Abyss of Yog.
