Infinity ward has released a short 15-second trailer ahead of the start of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2.
The trailer shows scant gameplay reveals but shows a user interface on a mobile device, the unseen user navigates menu's that read "Maps" "Personnel" "Intel" before accessing an encrypted section called "Objectives" in there is a message from Cpt. Price to Lt. Simon Riley - who is better known to fans of the series as Ghost. A character who was infamously betrayed by General Shepherd in THAT scene at the end of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
What follows is a series of clips showing a battle in what looks like the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer map Rust - one of the most popular maps in the history of the game. The video ends with the user being prompted for confirmation before replying "Ghost confirmed."
The last shot is an image of Ghost - perhaps his reflection in the glass? All signs point to it being Lt. Simon "Ghost" Riley himself using the device signalling the return of the iconic character to the series.
