After years of anticipation, Civilization 7 was formally announced back in June to kick off what will surely be an exciting road to release. Firaxis Games delivered a general release window of 2025, but they also revealed that players would get a first glimpse at Civ 7 gameplay this August. That time is coming, and we now have learned that Gamescom Opening Night Live will feature the Civilization 7 gameplay trailer debut.
Civ 7 gameplay reveal date and time confirmed for Gamescom
Longtime fans of the Civilization series have been eager to get a glimpse at what the next installment will bring to the table, and we finally know exactly when that is due to arrive. Gamescom Opening Night Live with Geoff Keighley on August 20 will officially feature the debut of the Civilization 7 gameplay trailer.
You'll have to tune in to twitch.tv/gamescom to watch starting at 11am PT / 8pm CEST, but that trailer isn't the only thing fans can expect. After Opening Night Live concludes, fans should immediately jump to twitch.tv/FiraxisGames at 1:30am PT / 10:30pm CEST for the official Civ 7 gameplay showcase.
The showcase will be 20 minutes long, and the development team will be previewing their vision for the game, innovative new features, and give some exclusive insights into the creation of Civilization 7. If you're able to attend Gamescom in person, Civ 7 will also have a featured booth in Hall 6 from August 21 to August 25.
At the end of this month, they're headed to PAX West in Seattle with a developer panel hosted by Kinda Funny Games' Greg Miller on August 31 featuring behind-the-scenes details about Civ 7 development. If you're at PAX West in person, they'll be in the Main Theater on the 5th floor of the Summit Building, but viewers at home can watch live via twitch.tv/PAX at 11am PT.
