In a Christmas announcement, Bendy and the Ink Machine series developer TheMeatly announced that the franchise is coming to the big screen with a Bendy and the Ink Machine Movie. The announcement comes just a few days after the developer promised that huge news was coming as a Christmas gift for fans. Joey Drew Studios and Radar Pictures are behind the upcoming film adaptation, which TheMeatly promises "WILL be scary."
It's unclear whether the Bendy film will feature live-action actors or animated scenes; however, it's worth noting that Radar Pictures are known for their primarily live-action films, such as Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Riddick, and The Last Samurai.
"We are super committed to making the Bendy movie as quality, scary, exciting, and honoring to the Bendy world as possible," TheMeatly wrote on X/Twitter. "It needs to be done right and with care."
The developer noted that the idea of a Bendy film has been "in discussions and meetings for years," and that he wanted to wait until the right time after Bendy and the Ink Machine: The Dark Revival was released. He also asked fans what they'd like to see in the upcoming film - from warnings, to worries, to excitements.
Bendy: The Cage is one of our most-anticipated horror games of 2024, so we're definitely excited to see more from the Bendy franchise this year. There's no release date announced for the Bendy and the Ink Machine movie quite yet, but it's likely we'll hear more about the upcoming movie - and the several games already announced for the franchise - in the new year.
