With the full library of Xbox Game Pass titles always in flux, fans are eager to learn exactly what they have in store as January kicks off the year. A handful of games are already expected this month, but the biggest star additions have yet to be confirmed. According to one reliable leaker, Xbox Game Pass could be due to receive another EA Play title and one iconic PC classic in January.
UFC 5 and Diablo could join Xbox Game Pass in January
According to one reputable leaker, two big additions could be due to arrive this month as part of the Xbox Game Pass library. The first would be part of EA Play, which is included for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. EA Sports UFC 5 could finally be set to arrive, and that would give a whole new player base access to what is currently their landmark fighting franchise.
There have been regular post-launch updates expanding the UFC 5 roster, and two different UFC events are already scheduled for this month. UFC Fight Night: Dern vs. Ribas 2 is coming up on January 11, and UFC 311 is just a week later on January 18. With UFC 5 being a little over a year old at this point, bringing it into the EA Play and Xbox Game Pass lineup could attract new players or UFC fans that have yet to give the game a try.
The same potential leak also suggested that the original Diablo game is due to hit PC Game Pass in January, which is available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. It's been nearly three decades since the release started what is now a massive Diablo franchise, but a re-release in 2019 upgraded the title to work more reliably on modern systems.
Diablo 2 got a remastered release back in 2021 on both Xbox and PC, so there's a slight chance its predecessor may get a console version on Xbox Game Pass as well. Exactly when either possible addition will arrive wasn't clarified in this leak, but Microsoft is expected to announce their January lineup soon. If the leak turns out to be true, these may only be part of what they have in store for the service in the the next few weeks.
