How to Tag in WWE 2K24, Tag Team Tips & Tricks

While most players will be focused on singles matches, knowing all the WWE 2K24 tag controls is crucial when those challenges arise. From doing a tag team finisher to executing double team moves, there are several unique ways to deal punishment in a tag team match.

In this WWE 2K24 tag team guide, we'll go over some tips and tricks to give you an edge any time you're in a team environment. Fortunately, one of the WWE 2K24 new features gives players a huge boost this year for the first time.

WWE 2K24 Tag Controls Guide, Tips & Tricks

Wearing down your opponent with the usual WWE 2K24 controls will do the trick for the most part, but there are a few unique controls specific to a tag team situation. You'll use LB or L1 to tag your partner, but whether you actually control them will depend on the game mode and settings you're utilizing.

Most MyRISE matches will default to dual control where you tag your partner in and immediately are now in control of that character as well. When you're setting up a tag team exhibition match in Play Now, you'll be offered the option to select yes or no for "Control Partners" at match creation.

If you have the ability to control both competitors, you'll default to swapping when a tag is made. To switch at any time during a match, press the View Button or Options Button and you'll swap to your tag team partner.

The big change in WWE 2K24 is that there is now a debuff when tag team partners interfere to break up a pinfall. As seen at the bottom right and bottom left of the above photo, any competitor that enters the ring while they aren't legal gets a red X debuff icon.

This means they can no longer illegally enter the ring to break up a pinfall until their partner makes a legal tag to reset things. When you're looking for the win, try to hit a Signature and go for the pin to bait the opposing team member to break it up. Once the debuff is active, you're open to hit your Finisher and take the win without it being interrupted.

How to do a Tag Team Finisher and Double Team

First, make sure you're using a character that actually has double team and tag team moves assigned as not every member of the WWE 2K24 roster will. If you want to do a tag team finisher, whip your opponent into the corner with your tag team partner to set things up.

Press LT + A or L2 + X when the prompt appears, and you'll tag in your partner and go into the tag team finisher animation. You can also do multiple tag team corner attacks and grapples from the same position even when you don't have a stored finisher.

For double team moves, the best thing is for one partner to Grab (with B or Circle) and then Drag (with LB or L1) your opponent as the other partner approaches and initiates the move by pressing A on Xbox or X on PlayStation.
