While gaming has become an activity which has permeated almost everyone’s daily lives, there’s still a stigma attached to the most hardcore players.
Basement dwellers? I can play anywhere grandad. Poor social skills? Tell that to my clan. There’s a range of stereotypes which have still stuck to a generation.
We asked GINX readers for the worst gamer cliches they’ve faced, and both of the above unsurprisingly came up - along with a bunch of peeves relevant to streamers.

That we "live in our parents basement" or can't also be fully functioning independent people who don't rely on our parents! You'd be amazed how many times people on Twitter call out the fact I'm a gamer and think I don't own my own house😂
