If you love tactical strategy games, especially the likes of Commandos, then you are in for a treat with War Mongrels. Developed by Destructive Creations, the game boasts real-time, tactical gameplay featuring elements of stealth, an intriguing story set in the eastern front of World War II and more. Here's everything you need to know about War Mongrels, from its exact release date and time to the PC system requirements, gameplay and features.

War Mongrels release date and time

War Mongrels has a release date of 19th October 2021 for PC, via Steam and the Epic Games Store. To be exact, the game is scheduled to release on 19th October 2021 at 17:00 BST, so mark your calendars and set those alarms if you can't wait to jump in. War Mongrels will also be arriving on consoles at a later stage, with no exact release date attached just yet.

War Mongrels gameplay

As mentioned at the start of this article, War Mongrels is a real-time tactics title with an isometric perspective. 

It features a dark, intricate story on the eastern front of World War II, and delves into the darkest parts of the human character. Check out some gameplay below.

Destructive Creations explains the premise of War Mongrels and what players can expect to experience: "The heavily history-inspired storyline guides players through the journey of two Wehrmacht soldiers as they go from deserters to hefty guerilla fighters. Their team expands as they meet new characters who support the same cause. As each character has their own set of skills and advantages, players must learn to combine them effectively to outsmart the enemy during a variety of missions in a changing environment.

"Sneaking, distraction, silent kills and using the environment are some of the main skills players will have to take to heart, but a stock of firearms will also be available and useful in completing mission objectives. And as the goal of every hero is to save others and hopefully survive, our heroes strive to prevent the deaths of innocent people instead of getting away from the war as originally intended."

For all intents and purposes, the War Mongrels gameplay looks both intense and thought-provoking.

War Mongrels is filled to the brim with features, including one of our favourites, co-op gameplay! This means that if you have a friend who also enjoys tactical strategy, War Mongrels could just be an exciting prospect to play at launch in co-op mode.

War Mongrels recommended requirements:

• Memory: 16 GB RAM

• Storage: 35 GB available space
• Sound Card: Integrated or dedicated DirectX 11 compatible soundcard.

It will be interesting to see how War Mongrels is received on launch but from everything we've learned so far, the game does look intriguing.
