Developer Pounce Light announced last month that they're working on a patch update to provide adjustments and optimizations for the Steam Deck. This planned update is intended for their sandbox "diorama builder" game Tiny Glade to be Steam Deck verified, which, as of writing, means the game is playable but will require some tweaking on the players' behalf.
Likewise, with work currently underway on getting Tiny Glade Steam Deck verified, they're also working on bringing controller support to PC for the sandbox game, which isn't supported in its current state. The developer has provided an update on controller support which will be coming soon to Tiny Glade's PC version.
Pounce Light posted to their Steam News page on 5th February 2025 that the development team is working on "adding general controller support" due to their work on "proper Steam Deck support." But before they can roll out the patch update, which adds controller support, a feature many players have been requesting prior to its launch, the developer asks players to provide feedback on a beta patch version of controller support, now available through beta testing.
"While we do have hands, and we did our best to roll, boop, and pat them all over PS4, Xbox, and Steam Deck controllers, we trust that you'll do that more expertly." Players can access "the default controller mapping," which can be tested by locating the game in their Steam Library, clicking on the cog wheel, and selecting "Properties" for a pop-up menu to appear onscreen.
Next, browse through the options and select "Betas," then the "Beta participation" option, and choose the Beta path "beta-1_12_0," which is labeled Controller Support. Players are to use the new default controller mapping included in the beta testing, which Pounce Light noted that there is a configuration issue with the left and right triggers "that might throw some folks off."
The developer has added a few adjustments to the game's menu and UIs, Steam Input action sets for the menu and gameplay, and additional controls accompanying the new default controller mapping. However, they also informed players that some features are missing like the tutorial still reflecting keyboard and mouse controls, missing localization, and issues impacting toolbar alignment, which forces players to reboot the game.
