Super People: Best performance settings for maximum FPS

Wonder People's battle royale can be pretty taxing on the PC, here are the best graphics and performance settings for maximum frames-per-second (FPS).
Super People: Best performance settings for maximum FPS

Super People has taken the rather tired battle royale formula and given it a powerful twist, incorporating elements of hero shooters, each of the game's 12 classes boasts game-changing abilities that can affect the tide of battle.

Outside of those abilities, the game plays, looks, and very much feels, in the mould of Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (in fact they both use the Unreal Engine 4 and - while an educated guess - it's highly likely Super People uses a derivative of PUBG's).

Infamously PUBG was horrendously optimised at release and anyone who has fired up Super People since it launched into closed beta can attest that some of those teething issues have crept into this battle royale.

While the game can be graphically impressive, it is clear that poor optimisation is at the core of the issues, and if installed on a SATA hard drive it politely suggests you shift it to a (much faster) SSD.

Not a bad idea for any game, especially one with such a large map that you can quite fly around on, but other, more graphically intensive games, manage it without quite the issues that Super People can have.

That doesn't mean it's a lost cause, a few tweaks of some settings and, perhaps most importantly, getting it on that SSD and you can get the game in a more than playable state.

Super People - system requirements

Before we get into the nitty-gritty, it is obviously worth having a look at both the minimum and recommended system requirements.

Minimum:

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4430 / AMD FX-6300
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 / AMD Radeon R7 370
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 40 GB available space
Recommended:
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K / AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon RX 580
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 40 GB available space

On the surface, there isn't a lot being asked of gamers, the minimum required graphics card is a four-generation old NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon R7 370 which the vast majority will meet.

Where the game does make demands is that all-important HDD space. It asks for 40 GB no matter the computer, and, as mentioned before, it will push you to install onto an SSD.

We have tried the game on both SSD and a SATA drive and the performance difference was measurable. Load times into maps went from 45+ seconds to under 10. The load times were so bad when playing from the SATA drive that we often wouldn't load in until flying over the map in the plane, meaning we missed several jump-off points and the ability to change classes in the pre-game lobby.

If you don't have the space on your SSD or simply don't have one, it isn't all bad news, the more games you play the quicker the load time decreases and overall in-game performance improves.

Super People - best settings for maximum FPS/performance

When you launch Super People for the first time, your computer will be given a rating in graphics and processing power. Based on this the game will choose settings for you. We recommend you have all other applications turned off before you launch the game so your PC is accurately gauged.

For our performance settings guide, we are going to assume you meet the minimum system requirements and have the game installed on an SSD. Having said that, we are still going to push for maximum FPS while remaining competitively viable.

The following settings can be changed in the "Settings" menu under the "Graphics" tab.

  • Display mode: Windowed Mode
  • Maximum Frame Rate Limit: Unlimited
  • Limit Lobby Frame Rate: 60 FPS
  • FPP Mode FOV: 90
  • Overall Graphics Quality: Custom
  • Textures: Low
  • Shadows: Very Low
  • View Distance: Medium
  • Foliage: Very Low
  • Effects: Low
  • Shader: Very Low
  • Anti-aliasing: Low
  • Post Processing: Low
  • Depth of Field: Disabled

Remember, as with any game, the best settings are PC dependent, so dive in and have a play around and above all else, make sure you have the game installed in an SSD.
