Get ready to aim down your sight and revel in gruesome headshots this coming May as we gear up for the release date of Rebellion Developments' newest shooter, Sniper Elite 5.

The third-person shooter provides excellent-looking gameplay, new features, and a campaign filled with action-packed missions and game modes to try. All set in one of the "largest and most immersive" maps as quoted by the developer, Rebellion in a recent blog post.

Sniper Elite 5 release date: When is Sniper Elite 5 coming out?

The upcoming title is promising to be a standout third-person shooter title in 2022, with great gameplay, graphics, and of course, glorious headshots!

Sniper Elite 5 has been confirmed for launch worldwide on the 26th of May. But many players are still wondering about the platforms which they will be able to enjoy the latest drop from Rebellion Developments.

Will Sniper Elite 5 be released on the PS4 and Xbox One?

Sniper Elite 5 will be available for purchase on PC, Playstation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. And while the game is titled Sniper Elite 5, it's actually the tenth total release since the series began back in 2005.

There are a number of exciting features including multiple game modes for players to enjoy. Let's take a deeper dive into what players can expect when Sniper Elite 5 releases on 26th May.

Sniper Elite 5: Gameplay and features

The Campaign

Sniper Elite 5 will take place in 1944 France as the player character Karl Fairburne, an elite marksman. He discovers a secret plot by the nazis known as Project Kraken that could end the world before the allies even invade Europe, and his goal is to stop it at all costs. We know; this sounds great already.

The campaign now also allows for solo or multiplayer engagement. Allowing you to play with a friend and progress through the story as you share resources, give and receive orders and heal one another.

X-Ray Kill Cam

It will also feature an enhanced X-Ray Killcam that Rebellion has promised to be more grizzly and realistic than anything we've seen in previous titles. Slow-motion can be activated for SMGs and pistols as well.

Invasion Mode

The game also features a brand new invasion mode. Here a player can silently enter another person's campaign and begin an exciting game of cat and mouse. The invaded party attempts to complete the current campaign objective while returning fire against the invader.

Weapons and Gunplay

Last but not least is the weapon customization and weapon gameplay. The game offers a massive amount of customization of your weapons. Scopes, stocks, barrels, and magazines. The type of ammo you use can be customized too, from armor-piercing rounds to non-lethal rounds, the choice is yours.

The gameplay will feature some upgrades such as advanced gunplay. Players will have to use zip lines and shimmy across ledges to get to the perfect vantage point. And factor in the rifle stock, barrel, gravity wind, and heart rate before taking that perfect shot.
